Everything is Delicious Love it
What's the best way to describe the smell of restaurant? Depends.Food was bland and mushy. It seemed designed and cooked to achieve peak gumming consistency.Kids eat for cheap, so that's good...
I used to love S&S, but the last couple of times have not been good. My mom and I ate there today and everything we got was cold. Many plates were being sent back for reheating. One employee said it was because of the steam tables. I had the chopped steak and it was RAW in the middle. I sent my barely eaten dinner back for a refund. The meal ended with a giant cockroach falling from the ceiling onto our table then to the floor. One of the servers came and picked up the roach in a napkin. So, needless to say, we have eaten there for the very last time.
Everything we ordered was cold, the chopped steak was raw, the okra was fried in old grease, and to top it off, a huge cockroach fell from the ceiling onto our table. One of the servers picked it up after it went to the floor. We've eaten there for the last time.
I ordered the roast beef it was tough and dry with no flavor. The only thing that was good was the sweet tea and the corn bread. I had heard good things about this place so I decided to try but it did not live up to the hype.
I’m giving it a one only because the sweet potato pie was good. The lady at the to go counter was hard of hearing and rude. My dressing was so wet you couldn’t enjoy it. My baked chicken….. wheeew Lord that’s another story. I just expected more being it’s soul/home food type of cooking. My husband ordered chop steak and it was a dried piece of hamburger. I just don’t understand.
OMG, step back to my childhood. Wonderful food, awesome staff that took me back 53 years to when my Grammy would take me to the Cedar Hills S&S in Jax, Fla.. I had my beef liver and onions, still as good as I remembet... Small World, the Augusta GM, Mr.. Wade started out st the Cedar Hills location and lived about 2 blocks from my parents first home in the late 50's... Small Small World
I always either end or begin my trip to Augusta with this place..cafeteria style eating but the foods way better and fresh! Their menu included meats, sides, and desserts, which you are able to see and choose which pieces you want. The food is covered by glass and is accessible by the workers only (who have on gloves, masks, and hair nets). BE WARNED lol after the standard meat and side, you have to pay for additional items (I’ve found myself getting extra’s and have yet to reach $50 in total) so it’s safe to say this place is very affordable. Great place to visit if you wanna nice home cooked meal!
Ordered pick up... Husband got there and no one knew where the food was. Got home and we paid for one fried chicken dinner and 3 orders of cabbage. An entire meal was missing, so he had to return to S&S for the missing items. The food has changed and so has the service. I see not every response gets a reply. Oh well, not every restaurant will get my money again.
The last 2 times I have been...the quality of food and flavor has gone down. It's a shame it used to be good. Interior is clean but very dated.
