Mellow Mushroom provides quality pizzas and appetizers at a reasonable price. The pizzas do take a little while longer to come out, but that is because they are made fresh to order. I haven't had a specialty I didn't like yet. I really recommend the Merry Prankster and the pretzel bites appetizer. Only complaint is it gets a bit crowded at peak times.
Personal fav pizza place! Always a good option if you cannot decide what to eat in downtown :> their strawberry lemonade is the best (but they don't have refills)
Delicious pizza restaurant in the middle of the historic Broad St.in downtown Augusta GA. Me and my wife ate a pizza for supper. Lots of sandwiches,pizza,adult beverages. We sat at the bar and ordered a few drinks. The bartender was right on time and got our drinks in quick fashion. The food we ordered came out quickly and was fresh. I ordered Thai wings and the meatballs. The wings were extremely good and the blue cheese was good too. Some restaurants don't have good blue cheese. I also got the meatballs as well. They were good. Good food and good service.
Usually stop in for lunch. It's convenient & easy going. Menu items are tasty. Some more than other. Lately the menu has been expanding with new items. Service can be iffy all depends on time of day & server. Jessie is always on her game being pleasant, attentive & hospitable. All in all Mellow Mushroom is a relaxed atmosphere with a variety of menu options for quick, fun bites.
Just tried the Merry prankster on the gluten free crust. It is definitely a must have again. The gluten free crust was thin & crunchy as expected! Fantastic!!
Was asking to give a name and number. After watching people getting sit before us I asked how much longer. They said they text us, here’s the kicker they only took down 9 numbers not 10. So when I pointed that out a server says “sit them whatever” with a attitude. Very unprofessional and I didn’t get upset with not being sit. I got upset cause of the attitude for no reason, when they problem was on their end. I am a chef been in restaurant busy all my life so I know how things work and mistakes happen but attitude is not acceptable.
My wife and I ate lunch there on a Sunday afternoon. We both ordered the white bean chili with chicken. It came out cold. We told the server. She said the kitchen would remake them. The second time, they came out cold again. The manager said that he would take the off the bill. It is confusing to me why soup should be served cold twice. I have to believe that the server is incompetent. I always would blame poor service on the management. However, poor service is routine the majority of restaurants that we have been to in Augusta, Georgia. I ordered the bruschetta. It consisted of soggy bread with chopped tomatoes on top, not the usual crusty Italian bread. Obviously, the cooks have never eaten true bruschetta. My wife ordered the baked chicken wings that were served hot and tasty. The server seemed inexperienced. We were trying to eat healthy and avoid saturated fat e.g. pizza. Healthy eating is a challenge at Mellow Mushroom!
I used to love it here. I was so excited after moving away to come back and enjoy such a nice atmosphere and delicious food, but my pizza came with no sauce when I asked for light sauce and our waitress Brittany was extremely cold and rude the entire time. I’m a server myself and I would never even think of acting like that towards guests. We were very polite because maybe she was having a rough day or was about to get cut and we were still treated poorly. Left very disappointed and frustrated.
