Food absolutely scrumptious. Love the hush puppies. Our server, Georgina is absolutely sweet. Best peach tea I've ever had. Service excellent. Seafood platter is yummers. Will DEFINITELY come back to eat.
This was the nastiest food I’ve ever tried to eat. Wasted our money. I felt sorry for our server for having to listen to our complaints. She was really sweet, but it wasn’t her fault that the food was awful!!!! Beyond awful!!!! The only thing fried with cornmeal breading was the hush puppies. They were from a frozen bag, I’m guessing. The shrimp was NASTY! Breaded with only FLOUR. Overcooked! My husband’s flounder was extremely thin(hardly any meat) with FLOUR BREADING! We could not eat the stuff. I never write bad reviews, but I would not want anyone to waste their money on this restaurant.It use to be a pretty good place with the older owners(beforeCovid).
I am not one to complain but the seafood was not fresh. It tasted like it was from the freezer. The "grilled" steak was not grilled and had no flavor. It looked as though it is as baked. The server was nice and the murals on the walls are nice to look at. We had been here before but it has been years and we were satisfied then. Not very happy this time.
First we have been eating here for overR15 years.I understand prices have increased due the economy.With that being said:1. The quality of the food was poor to say the least.2. The quality or portions were reduced to about 1/4 of the previous plates.3.The price had increased almost 7.00 per serving since our previous visits.4.The tables were even sticky after we requested a second wash down.5. TO CHARGE FOR COLESLAW I THINK WAS THE LAST STRAW.6.. This is positively our last visit to HARBOR INN. WE WISH YOU WELL.The change of management or ownership will be the end of this establishment.
This used to be a really good place to eat under the original owner. Now the food is awful and the place is nasty. On the same level as eating take out at the local landfill.
My Wife order catfish and a loaded $3.99 bake potato. The baked potato was hard inside she removed the toping which were cheese and bacon and placed on a napkin to try and cut the inside of the potato. She told the waitress that she didn't want the potato because it was hard inside. The waitress took the potato in the kitchen. Returned and told my wife that owner said she going to have to pay for the potato because she ate the bacon and cheese, my told the waitress that she didn't eat the items and gave her bacon and cheese that were on the napkin the waitress returned and told my wife that the owner told her to call the police. My wife requested to speak with the owner, he never came out. My wife told the waitress to call the police. The waitress didn't want to call the police about a baked potato and said she would pay for the potato, we told her no it not about the money it was about the principal of the situation. The waitress paid, but we gave her money back plus a large tip. We will never eat there again. The waitress was very courtesy. The owner could of came out and address the situation.
The place has great staff and atmosphere. The deviled crabs were a bit dry, and not very good. The hush puppies were wonderful!!! The sweet tea was NOT sweet. I really loved our waitress, though!!
The tables were greasy and unclean, one waitress who is not around, you had to stand up while eating and ask for something. Ordered a combo with fried jumbo shrimp and flounder & coleslaw. Coleslaw came out of the freezer and hurt my teeth ! The flounder was a total disappointment, a fish meat that was 1 centimeter in thickness covered with breading ! I asked is this a flounder steak and how many grams am I paying for ? Their answer was “well they have changed everything, everybody tells the same thing ! Well I’m sorry we will give you a free coleslaw” and blank helpless looks for 24 Dollars ! Never back again !
Just had my most favorite fish. My cat fish dinner was deep fried, 3 unboned piece. Covered with salt and pepper coating. French fries is all I wanted but I did try my friends hush puppy which I thought was delicious. My entire meal arrived hot and ready for consumption. It was fabulous. It was like I remembered I would have growing up. Of course I had collards and mash potatoes with it. No French fries when I was growing up. I can't begin to recommend Harbor Inn for a fantastic fish dinner. Anyone who loves seafood has to go to Harbor Inn for their next fish dinner.
Food was hot....jumbo shrimp were huge and pretty tasty....hush puppies were fried to hard but tasty....good sweer tea...super empty inside....had me thinking something i didn't know being from outta town???....i would go back
