Had a fantastic time here. Came here with friends last Friday to see the drag show. This place was lit. We had so much fun at the show and ended up staying until they closed. The staff was super nice and everyone was vibe’n.We will definitely be back
This is a fun gay bar, and my friends and I always have a great time going here. The vibe on Saturday nights is super fun. It starts getting busy generally around 11/11:30. They play a good mix of current pop music and throwbacks to the 00s/10s which is fun from a millennial perspective. It's definitely good music for dancing, and there's plenty of space on the dance floor, so this is our preferred gay bar for actual dancing rather than just socializing. There's also a nice patio where you can go to chill out and take a break. Last time I went on a Saturday, cover was $5 and they give you a stamp so you can leave/reenter if you want.I've seen some people complain about not getting free water here. The only time I've experienced that was once during Pride in the pre-Covid times when it was super busy and I hadn't bought an actual drink. I've generally found that if you've been buying drinks, they'll give you a cup of water for free. I don't totally agree with this practice (water should be free, keeps people from getting dehydrated, sick, etc.) but it's just what I've observed personally, so try to get water from the same bartender you were buying your drinks from (and it doesn't hurt to throw a tip in for the water too). Overall it doesn't bother me enough to knock off a star. The bartenders have always given me good service and the drinks are fairly priced.
Essentially one big, boring “dance floor” with corny strobe lights and a lackluster patio. I’ve only been there a few times and each time, didn’t feel it’s a safe space for the LGBTQ+ community at all. It’s essentially a fraternity ran by a bigoted man, who frequently attacks the surrounding businesses so his own, quite boring, bar can stay afloat.- editing this to include the last experience my partner and I had at this bar, which confirmed my prior belief that this is a bar for privileged men. A couple making out aggressively, with one of them SITTING on the bar top. When they began to fall onto my partner, who was waiting for drinks and asked them to keep their distance, they told us to “f*** off lesbians” and the bartender giggled. They were still making out atop the bar when we finished our drinks and left 30 minutes later.
Horrible bathroom situation, same exact 15 songs on replay every day with no dj and no events, shady business calling the cops and closing down nearby events to try to gain customers. I’ve also heard personal stories of people who have been banned for leaving negative reviews. I would suggest maybe coming up with new ideas, events, hiring djs, etc to increase business.
This place is as dead as my grandmother who died in 95. Lets talk about the service. If you want a small plastic cup with more mixer than liquor you are in the right spot! Over priced drinks and lets not forget about the cover at the door, they should pay us to come in! The owner, James Nelson who is a real winner can't stand the fact that no one comes in the bar to hear Britney on repeat and admire the horrible plant wall of 2020 or is it the backyard tiki bar? Regardless if you want to visit a bar in Midtown, do yourself a favor and walk right past X Midtown! You are doing yourself a favor and why support a business who does not support the community!
Place could be decent if they ever had good music and/or was ever busy. Instead, you have an owner so out of touch that instead of changing his entertainment, he has to get other, more popular parties, shut down.Don’t go here. Waste of a cover and your time. Walk over to Blake’s instead.
Do not come here, drinks are watered down definitely felt uncomfortable when I went as if they didn’t want to service me. It took over 30 MINUTES to even be acknowledged there is better bars in the area. Do not come here.
A very racist, bigoted, and pretentious environment full of overpriced drinks, bad music, and rather unfriendly people. If you don't wish to be associated with or experience such things, I'd recommend choosing a different club to go to.
This bar called the police on another bar across town having a successful event( 8 Arm during Chaka Kahn) and got them shut down basically out of pettiness. So folks are trying to make sure that info gets around.
Really good music, cute patio in the back, cool vibe!
