Highly recommend this place for a reasonably priced excellent taco. The brisket taco is my go-to every time. I doused these with their hot sauce.
The black manager Sgay was rude to me a black woman. Why ? Someone told her I was a good critic so immediately became intimidated and rejecting. She was so rude I asked for a refund on my tacos cuz I believe they would place objects in my tacos. I wasn’t rude but she took offense quickly just from my presence. As a manger she showed her employees it’s okay to be rude n nasty. The employee asked her ain’t you afraid she gone leave u a review? She stated idc what she gone say I did bad! For this too be a establishment full of black folks they was rude and mad For no reason. I couldn’t even trust eating my food I gladly returned it. Shay doesn’t deserve management position she can’t even lead her employees to have manners and show respect to those who don’t disrespect you. This happened last night at 10 pm. She even delayed my order to purposely entice anger and resentment x I laughed because she had no real reason to be rude other than intimidation.Fast orders. The fried tomato special taco was good and crunchy. I also tried few other combinations. Open late. Hang out spot for local gaming. Bar. Walking area for other local food
Great place and delicious food!
Really freaking good tacos. Don't come here expecting authentic Mexican street tacos. Come here to try something new. Absolutely love the ambition of the flavor combinations. Worth coming back to try them all.I got the spicy Tikka chicken, green Chile pork, and the mexi-cali shrimp.
Oh my gosh, these tacos were so good I talked about them for days after I had them. They have a good variety of options, including vegetarian. They have a new taco flavor every week. It's in a great location and I loved the vibe of the restaurant.
Great as always! These are fusional and certainly not your authentic tacos, so do not be disappointed or surprised. I feel like the buckhead location has better food but the service here is way better.I wish there was more seating available though!
Omgosh these are THE BEST tacos!!!!! Unique options, I got two and went back for a third one before I left. Each bite is an EXPLOSION of flavor!! This place absolutely just became my new favorite taco spot. All the staff is super friendly and helpful as well. Highly recommend!
If you’re craving tacos and you’re in the area, try out this quaint taco spot. Located on the Westside Provisions district, their menu has a ton of great options from their apps, drinks, and of course, plenty of different tacos with different proteins available. Bonus points since they have vegan/vegetarian options as well! The service was exceptional; they gave great recommendations and they were able to provide me whatever I needed, to go containers, bags, napkins etc. All of that to say, I would totally come back here again if I was in the area looking for a great atmosphere and great food!
Velvet Taco's menu reignites an age old culinary argument about authenticity and semantics. Because Velvet Taco tacos are only technically tacos because each one is wrapped in a tortilla. But there's nothing remotely Mexican about them. Each "taco" is just a different dish reflecting a different culture/genre/style of food and the unique flavors they contain, and wrapped in a tortilla. Which is fine, but it's just a schtick to call everything a taco when they're really just wraps. But I digress. You see, the reason I’m pointing this out is because I’m trying to put my finger on what I didn't like. Because I appreciate what Velvet a taco is trying to do, and frankly, how well they do it. I just didn't enjoy it. I've rarely been to a restaurant that nails the fundamentals so well but can't quite stick the landing. For example, the blue cheese in the Buffalo Chicken was more powerful than what you typically get with wings and it didn't jive for me with their wing sauce. The Cuban Pig is an homage to the Cubano sandwich, but it's just not as good as a taco as it is a grilled sandwich with melted cheese. The Grilled Salmon had good texture but lacked pizzazz. And the Fish n' Chips, which was my favorite so far, was finished with mustard instead of tartar or an aioli, which took it more into hot dog territory. And yet, as I picked these dishes apart, I found the individual ingredients to be well cooked and quite tasty. The creativity, effort, and craft were obvious and very well executed. And the presentation is fantastic. I just didn't love the food. And I think that's because of the menu versus my expectations. The combinations don't complement or support each other like they would if they were all say, Mexican. And individually, while well prepared, the choices of ingredients distracted me. I'll give Velvet Taco another chance. They're good at cooking and have decent service. Whether it's for me is another story. But I appreciate the effort.
Tortillas frías Salsa Malísima Falafels sin sabor y remojados Evidentemente no saben la naturaleza de un buen TACO Over pricing!!!!!
