I enjoyed authentic Neopolitan Pizza from Varuni Napoli

We were out looking for pizza around midtown and looked at a couple places but none had both decent parking and the right ambiance. We drove by Varuni out front. Parking looked horrible and the store front seemed basic. We drove around back and found the real parking which was plentiful. We walked up the rear entrance and saw a soothing fountain with a brook like feeling. Up on the back patio was a big old tree coming up from the brook through the patio providing a great natural shaded feeling. This was perfect. We went in and ordered their Bastardo pizza which had a red sauce, pepperoni and was mildly spicy. The pizza came out to our table under the tree on the patio in about 10 minutes. We enjoyed our pie in a very relaxing atmosphere. We will be back.

This isn’t a reflection of the food- the food itself is delicious. It’s a reflection of the staff at the Monroe Drive location. My partner had had a not great day, so I decided to drive him around the corner to treat him to a date night. We ordered one pizza to split, two beers and a tiramisu. That’s it. We had ordered at the counter by about 8:15, when we took a seat outside (the outside area is gorgeous). After about 10 minutes we hadn’t received our beers, so I asked our server. Maybe it was my bad and I was supposed to pick the beers up inside, I thought, but the server told us that he was supposed to bring them to us and he’d go fetch them. A few minutes later, no beers. I ask a second server and he says he’ll go grab them. Another ten minutes go by and my partner has to go inside to the cashier to get them himself. When we have our beers in hand (that we brought out ourselves on a meal we paid 40-something bucks for plus a 20% tip, so over $50), we wait 15 or so minutes longer for our pizza. I go through the process of asking the servers (who were actively avoiding us as folks who were in line after us were getting their pizzas and plenty of attention), they go inside, then the chef comes out, asks what our order was, says there was some confusion, then goes back inside. 15 minutes pass with no communication and total avoidance by our servers and then we get our one pizza. After almost an hour waiting and folks who ordered after us leaving. At this point the servers are just ready to leave since they’re closing in 30 minutes, and our server upon giving us our pizza says “I’ll try to make sure the manager gives y’all a discount or something, so sorry.” No discount, just two very crumbled pieces of tiramisu instead of one. Which was something, as they were tasty albeit smaller looking than what we saw in the case and, well, crumbled. We didn’t feel valued or taken care of after paying so much for a meal to cheer my guy up. Mistakes happen- orders are somehow missed. But to avoid us as much as possible while offering almost no communication unless we have to ask, then giving us such a small “sorry” is not great. We were planning to take our friend visiting from Portland to this place next week but we won’t be. I used to work in the service industry for ten years, so I try to always be patient and understanding, but this is only the second negative review I’ve ever written. Integrity isn’t about not making mistakes- it’s all in how you communicate and handle mistakes.

I fell in love with the Bastardo pizza. The crust was wonderful. The pork ragu sauce with slight spicy heat is fantastic. The pepperoni and pecorino cheese just sends this awesome pizza over the top. The atmosphere and service are kind of lacking. I'd give it three stars. They do have a cool walk up window to order a pizza from the street and take it with you. They also have a nice outdoor patio in the back. The employees seem to just be going through the motions. They let the greatness of the pizza speak for itself rather than try to make the experience great.

We haven’t been able to find a good authentic Italian pizza place with brick oven pizza and last night we found it at this place . Definitely I give it 5 stars if you are in the Atlanta area stop by this place and enjoy the brick oven pizza , deserts and appetizers!! You won’t regret it .

Simple, surroundings with benches and tables and a few tables. You order and pay before seating yourself. This is the perfect time of year for outdoor dining and you'll find plenty of seating outdoors. Now the pizza. We had pepperoni and meat and a plain with basil. Both were excellent with a nice thin crust that was perfectly charred and flavorful from being cooked in the woodburning pizza ovens. The service was great. The pizza came out quickly. We also had the meatballs and bread appetizer. Excellent.

I haven’t posted in a year but I felt I had to. Amazing Neapolitan pizza, great friendly service and great atmosphere. I loved it.

Exceptional authentic Italian pizza. The fresh basil, homemade sauce, and crisp fluffy crust make this pizza next level. The bastardo is my favorite. Got our pizzas fast after ordering! Fun dining atmosphere. Can’t wait to check out their outdoor patio area once it warms up outside.

Absolutely delicious pizza, was made very quickly as well. The service was excellent and the dessert was equally amazing.

Have had great pizza here on many occasions, plus it's always fast and very authentic. A little pricey compared to big chains but it's one of a few places in Atlanta that is a pizza place for pizza fanatics. Great outdoor patio in the back with good vibes, definitely worth a visit.
