Great food, wine and service!
A truly exceptional meal. We have meant to come here for years, and the recent Eater38 review inspired exploring a reservation - last minute. BAM! We scored, and boy-oh-boy was it worth it. The menu is limited, but very interesting. We sampled from big and small plates. Where to start....the tartare is sublime (spicy but balanced and perfect with the daikon radishes), the fried clams are outta this world, and the eggplant - OMG! Who knew veggies were so good. We topped it off with the mushroom stroganoff - another food orgasm. And then the olive cake....we assumed if they do food this good, the desert will impress as well. We were soooo right. Top it off with an interesting wine list and a fantastic non-boozie drink list for my sober partner, and it was the perfect night. Very cool speak-easy surroundings noted and amazing service (thank you Caroline and friends), we can't wait to go back. Eater was right - again!
Greg Best and Regan Smith are some of the most exceptional bar owner/operators that I have ever encountered. Everything is always 100%. It’s an honor to know these people and yes your beverages and food will be amazing.
Greg and Alec are a dynamic duo behind the bar. The banter, the wit, the cocktails, the food, just sheer perfection. Once a visitor, always family.
Fantastic spot in Krog Street Market. The drinks were fantastic and the food was excellent. Highly recommend the beef tartare and fried clams if they're on the menu. Staff was unbelievably nice and helpful. Wish this place was in Chicago and I'd be there constantly. Will definitely be stopping back in the next time I'm in town.
Overall, Ticonderoga was a good experience. It’s a fun space with good service and food. The Club Mussels we’re cooked perfectly. The sake broth added depth to the dish while the Texas Toast was a great vessel to soak up the broth. The salad was fresh, but the dressing was very salty. And this is coming from a guy who loves salt. It could have been a fluke that night, and I would try it again to compare. The stroganov was rich, creamy and tart thanks to the goats milk yogurt. The earthiness of the mushrooms was offset by the herbaceous fresh herbs and dill.My husband ordered the herb roasted pork loin. He said it was over-cooked and chewy. When we alerted our server, they said they would alert the chef. To be fair, they did offer to make something else but were out of the dish my husband wanted so he declined. They ultimately left the dish on the bill so that was disappointing. The desserts were fantastic! We were torn between the Almond Cake and the Chocolate Mousse. I thought I’d be biased and like the mousse more, but fell for the Almond Cake. It was moist and crunchy with a perfect dollop of fresh whipped cream.Dinner had some ups and downs, but dessert and drinks were where they really shined.
From start to finish, Ticonderoga Club knocked it out of the park. The hostess was extremely warm and welcoming, the ambiance is ideal… low lighting, unique decor, cozy, somewhere you want to stay for a while. The service was the right balance of moving things along in a non-interruptive way. She made great recommendations… best steak tartare and mussels I’ve had in a long time. The mussels are large and plump and the broth is well seasoned (other places the mussels are small and chewy). Catch of the day and eggplant wrapped the dinner up nicely. Can’t wait to go back after dry January! Cocktail menu looked next level ?? Run, don’t walk, to experience this restaurant!
Our server was new but did an absolutely fantastic job. Her recommendations were spot on and the food was absolutely delicious. Would definitely go again.
The Pork Loin with Sweet Potatoes and Brussels is righteous. The seasoning level with use of fresh herbs is quality. The Mule type drink with pineapple and rum got my face numb. Also had the eggplant dish which was pretty good for eggplants, I appreciate a healthier option. The Mixed Veggies are ridiculously good I could drink the sauce on everything they had. I expected to spend every bit of what I spent. I enjoyed and service was great so I’m giving 5 star.
Kale Salad, cocktails, and chocolate mousse were great. Good service. Fun atmosphere.
