This steakhouse is OK. In my opinion, it's not one of the best in Atlanta. We have MANY other options that are better. The coffee cured steak was okay, the flavor was different in an odd way. I would not order it again. Not nasty but just OK. I also tasted the ribeye and the person that ordered it asked for steak sauce and you know what they say "good steaks don't need sauce" so that's telling in itself. The sides are better than the meat. The rolls are AMAZING and melt in your mouth. Just an honest opinion from a steak lover!
Was looking for a nice place to celebrate both me and my guy's birthday. Wanted to try something new with a nice ambiance. Stumbled across this place and saw all the good reviews and it wasn't too far from us, so decided to go. Had rsvp'd but was about 15 mins late, therefore, had to wait for our table for about 10 mins. It was a Saturday a little after 7PM and it was prom day, so it was a bit busy. We got seated and then (forgot the young man's name) the waiter came over in about 3 to 4 mins later. Told him it was our first time, so he explained their menu, specials, etc. I ordered the steak rolls (appetizer) and for dinner I ordered some kind of crusted chicken parmesan with mashed potatoes and asparagus. My guy just ordered the grill chic salad. He brought out some bread that looked like donut holes with some butter before the appetizer. The bread was soft and a tab sweet, but not too sweet and they were so good that we asked for another serving, which was a mistake bc we kind of got full off that alone...lol. However, when we got the appetizer, I was very pleased bc those steak rolls were sooo good and will def be my go-to whenever I go back! Think we got 6 of them and they were a good size not too small...cost $13 I believe and it was worth it! Then the meal came out. The chick parmesan was good, but too salty! My guy's grilled chick salad was salty too (the chic not the salad)! I had to tell the waiter bc they needed to know. He told me they soak their chick in salt water. So I'm assuming when they season the meat, it adds more salt on top of it soaking in the salt...geez! Other than that, everything else was good. Note to the cooks: Please be mindful on how much salt you're using! The chicken was good, but just too salty for us. One other thing, don't think the mashed potatoes were real..taste like box mash potatoes...not bad, but for this type of establishment authentic is expected. Overall, we like this place and will return to try diff dish next time, but keeping my steak rolls on my menu....lol
We spent a Friday night with family at this restaurant at Cumberland Mall, near Truist Park in Atlanta. The food at Stoney Rver is excellent with many choices. The steaks are outstanding and cooked properly to your order, but they also have excellent seafood and appetizers. The thing that really impressed me on this visit was the quality of the wait staff. Our waiter was outstanding. His sense of timing was perfect-not too attentive, just attentive enough with a very professional touch. We loved the service and i noticed that all of the tables around us were receiving similar service. In the current times, with shortages of employees, this establishment has it down right. We started out our visit in the bar for a drink and received similar service. We definitely are coming back and would recommend this place to all. Great job by the management and employees to give us a memorable dinner experience.
Atmosphere was great, and service was nice. I ordered the meatloaf and no way was that beef. The mash potatoes tasted like they were from a box mix, not real potatoes. For the price, I expected the real deal.
Nothing like the picture. Steak was tough. “Coffee cured” filet ruined the flavor. Martini with a twist came back as a lemon-drop. Mall location. You get the idea…
To start off, We had appetizers. The whiskey shrimp was to die for! Followed by a delicious steak cooked to perfection. I had asparagus with mine. Husband had Gouda max and cheese. We brought dessert home with us. Which was also great. The service was impeccable. The atmosphere was perfect. It was a bit pricey, $210.00 but we fully expected it. And it was worth it. We will go back.
Where can I start. As you can see this Bone-In Ribeye was not only a great steak visually, but it tasted phenomenal. The Caesar salad was great and well portioned as well. Service was a tad bit slow but it was made up with cake for my mother’s birthday.
First Experience at Stony River. Exceeded our expectations! Our server Eric was attentive and had great energy! The house rolls w/ cinnamon butter were addictive! Food (Steak Rolls, Mushroom Meatloaf & Steakhouse Burger) was cooked to perfection!!! We will certaiy return with others!
Whhhhheeeewwww!!!! Absolutely amazing!!!!!! From the buttery tender and flavorful steak, to the amazing service from our waiter, the ambiance of the beautiful edifice with indoor fireplace, to Absolutely no wait even though the place was full. I just happened upon it heading to Maggiano's who had a 3 hour wait and their food is nowhere near this good. I can't wait to go back!!!
Impeccable service and food. Atmosphere was perfect.our server did everything absolutely right. I couldn't have asked for a better experience out with my wife. You guys hit a home run with us.
