Good food and pasties, but really difficult to take sides with the scale of value for what you get. $9 for a not full bowl of soup is a little sad. Also a few tiny pieces of chicken in it. Probably will stay away from soups at this establishment but otherwise wonderful space and lot’s of options.
Best of Atlanta. Pastries, omelet sandwich and sausage biscuits are our go to.
Service was stellar. The biscuit sandwich with folded egg and sausage was a favorite. Their coffee and pastry selection was out of this world. Ample indoor seating with cute shop items available to peruse and buy. Will absolutely go again if we're ever in Atlanta
Great ambiance and the food has gotten even better than before. We had a shrimp po boy, the Turkey, and the Banh mi, everything was superb. They also have great coffee. One recommendation to management would be to put heat lamps outside. It can get chilly and sunlight doesn’t always hit the outdoor benches as much as one would like to stay warm!
Absolutely delicious! If the quiche special is available, get it! Amazing service from the entire staff but a special shout-out to Carol and Hannah. They are awesome and always make great food suggestions. The staff is also great with dogs. They will happily get you a bowl of water for your pup.
Went too Star Provisions for lunch on my birthday, having been a longtime fan of Anne Quatrano's various culinary enterprises, for decades. We arrived after their normal lunch service had ended, so we ordered something to go. Unfortunately, it seems, Ms Quatrano has lost her desire to provide the level of exemplary service.I ordered a Shrimp Po Boy (To Go), and when I got home (literally a block and a half away), my sandwich was still warm, however the shrimp were WAY overcooked. I decided to write an email to the restaurant's email address because $14 is a lot of money to pay for any sandwich, much less, one that is distinctly faulty.I was quite surprised to receive a reply by Ms Quatrano, herself. I was even more surprised at the tone and condescension in her reply. She seemed convinced I'd microwaved my sandwich, causing the shrimp to be overcooked. Knowing better, I hadn't. And even stated as much in my email.Maybe Ms Quatrano was having a bad day, or my email arrived at a particularly stressful moment. The food service business can be very stressful. I had actually written my email for two specific reasons; first, as a previous restaurant owner/operator, I learned to appreciate when a customer raises an objective concern about the product or service upon which I've built a reputation. For every ten bad experiences, you're lucky if even one will let the operator know. Most people just forget about it and move along.Second, everyone makes mistakes, and a $14 mistake—I would think—is enough to precipitate some kind of remedy or offer to "make things right," so to speak. An offer to replace the sandwich or a gift certificate—something that shows an effort to make things right.Ms Quatrano offered neither. And frankly, I got the distinct impression from her reply that it was my fault, somehow, the shrimp was overcooked and inedible. It is at this point that I generally accept the fact I'm dealing with a dead end, and shouldn't waste my time further. I'm leaving this review so other customers, or potential customers, are forewarned.
The building is beautifully designed, bright, and spacious. The shop “provisions” were a mixture of well known and up and coming local food brands. We ordered several sausage biscuit sandwiches and espresso coffee. The biscuit had a great texture and crumble, but the coffee may have been over extracted and a bit bitter to my taste. They use Dancing Goat coffee. Overall a solid experience, but lacking on the finishing touches. Can’t wait to hear back to try more of the menu in their outdoor patio seating space.
Feel of a small town cafe in what is normally a commercial Atlanta. Food is worth every calorie and penny. I have had the spicy honey chicken biscuit sandwich and eggplant banh mi and will come back for both again. Looking at the cute merch while in line is also a plus. Only reason I did not give 5 stars is the coffee experience. I have had strange drink ware (lack of lid, small cup, etc) and there isn’t a portion of the menu dedicated to it. Otherwise, one of my favorite spots on the west side!
The BEST organic sourdough bread in the city! We buy 2 loaves a week especially when we have family or company in town. Everyone says the same thing "this is amazing bread!" My hubby loves the chicken sandwich that we get from the Freedom Farmers Market and when the bread truck isn't there we cry. The line is long but it's for a reason... the ancient grain bread is great too if you want something hearty and solid. You actually can't go wrong with any of the breads... Can't live without Star Provisions :)
I was really surprised. 3 people in our group, all got very mediocre food. Italian grinder on semi stale bun, no condiments or lettuce/tomato. Have truly had better at Jersey Mikes.
