So to be very honest, I’m only giving it a 2 because the employees were pleasant. I originally ordered Turkey wings , waited in my car for curbside & the wings never came out. So I walked in only to find out there were NO Turkey wings at all. So no one contacted me to let me know that - I was just sitting there in the parking lot, that’s number one! Now on to the actual plate I did get, the food was not good at all. I could tell that the ribs had been cooked somewhere else, brought to the venue to serve & reheated several times as customers purchased rib dinners, they were tough. The collard greens taste like they were canned greens & had sugar in them . The muffin was not cornbread, tasted very much like cake. The dressing was ok, I was underwhelmed & I thought the gravy would make it better but, it was bland. Last but not least, the fried chicken was fried beautiful golden brown, nice size cut wings - only for me to pick up the wing & smell fried fish! I could see the cornmeal on the wings which let me know it was fried in the fish grease. So I took a bite & I was exactly right. The banana pudding I purchased for dessert, I have not opened but I’m almost sure it’s not homemade now that I’ve experienced everything else. For the cost of $29 , I was so so disappointed & I will never purchase anything again.
I eat here often the food is normallygood. I went on Friday ordered twofish meals when I arrived home myfish & candy yams was burnt. This iswhat turned me off with this business I called left them a message lettingthem know to call me back becausemy food is burnt I live 15 minutesaway. Not one manager called back to apologize for the food I couldn't eat. They lost a customer I will not support a business who doesn't give good customer service.
I've been before a while ago and really enjoyed it. This time unfortunately I can't say the same. I ordered the brisket and it was not good. The sides were on point, but the brisket was just not up to par. I asked if I could exchange for another meat and was told the manager would have to approve and he wasn't there. I ended up just ordering another entrée, the wings. I was disappointed since my main reason to going was the brisket.
This was my first time trying this restaurant, I ordered surf and turf. I was pleasantly surprised as it arrived as hot as it would have had they delivered it to our table the food did not have a Southern Kitchen taste. The fish was fresh, crispy on the exterior fluffy inside & had a good taste. The wings while fresh were very mild in seasoning, my side of broccoli casserole was very tasty yet the garlic mashed potatoes which seemed to have been fresh (from scratch) yet, did not necessarily have remnants of garlic & for sure no butter lastly they were bland. The final disappointment to my meal was the brown butter and honey muffin...I would give them five star as it relates to the portion to their price The Mamas mixture beverage was very good
The food just wasn’t good. Ordered brisket dinner and catfish dinner. Brisket dry and flavorless, BBQ sauces weren’t the best. Cornbread was dry and flavorless. Mac&Cheese was too cheesy and greasy which made the noodles into mush. Yams were ok. Cobbler cheesecake was gross. Peach bread pudding was also gross. Catfish was good though, best part of the meal.
The catfish dinner was very tasty, however when I called to place a pick up order the woman who answered the phone was rude. I ignored this thinking “maybe she is having a bad day “. I understand because we all have bad days. When I place the order online I was provided with an order number. I arrived to pick up my food and a light skin woman with braids asked for a name I communicated that I wasn’t asked to give my name for the order. She then goes on to ask “Is it your food ?” I said yes and she says with an attitude “So what’s your name ?”. I had to pause instead of addressing her nasty attitude I gave my name …..which wasn’t even on the bag a nick name was. Just wish there was better customer service, I was excited about being here for the second time but probably won’t go back again
I am truly impressed with their food and especially the desserts! Everyone was so nice and pleasant. I will definitely be back and spread the word.

Second time visiting this establishment. I love to support local businesses. Unfortunately I found some type of paper material inside of my Mac and cheese. No big deal. Ribs and potato salad are good. Cornbread and yams and Mac were just ok. Baked beans were bomb.
