Such a great spot! Affordable sushi and great portions. There is also ample seating and good service. There’s a free parking space next to the restaurant for those worried (although not the safest but definitely a good option). We got three roles, Sexy, Optimistic, and After the Rain.** Not very many vegetarian options though.
Excellent quality and reasonable prices and wonderful layering of the spices. It was my first time here, but it won't be my last. We got Red Curry, Veggie Spring Rolls, Crab Rangoon, and 3 Sauce Chicken.
Ordered a $15 sushi roll, requested brown rice and minimal rice. Instead I got globs of white rice. Rice and cucumber made up most of this 'special' roll. Very little fish. Nothing like the picture or description on menu. Ingredients were fresh just disappointing for money paid.My husband liked his fried rice and the shrimp dumplings were good though..so not a total loss.
The food was amazing. I'm not much of a sushi fan, but I thoroughly enjoyed the sushi her. I got the curry as well and it was very filling and delicious for the price. Definitely recommend.
I must say, the pork chef special dish I had was absolutely delicious and flavorful, even though parts of the pork meat were dry. Their egg fried rice is also delicious, and their sushi is high quality. In the past, they had a student deal where I could get a full meal for approximately $10. If they still had their student deal, I'd give Satto 5 stars. Now, expect to spend over $20 dollars for most dishes. For that price point, food quality needs to be taken up a notch for that 5 star rating.
The Currys are definitely delicious I was not disappointed. The OMG sushi was really big but not a favorite for me.. The crab raccoons were delicious they were wrapped in eggroll wraps. My husband said the fried rice was really delicious I totally agree.
My party of six ate here on a Sunday evening after being informed down the street at Wok Chi that there would be an HOUR wait for a table there. We were seated immediately at Satto, and although they appeared to be very busy with lots of takeout orders and they had only one wait person working tables, our food arrived in a fair amount of time and was delicious and reasonably priced. I asked if I could get the pad Thai with no chicken (shrimp only) since I'm mostly a vegetarian who eats shellfish or fish only rarely, and was told that was not a problem. Special thanks to our wait person who was working her heart out.
The fish was fresh and the rolls were rolled very nicely but the rice was very sweet. I know sushi rice gets sugar but it was too much. For a roll that just has fish it was wayy too sweet. Would go back just hoping they taste the rice first before serving
They have great food here. I use to order from here all the time when I lived in west midtown. The bagel rolls are to die for. Why am I give it 2 stars? The service is horrible. Last time I was there to pick up a Togo order no one acknowledged me and I was left waiting for close to 10mins. My order was sitting on the counter too. Haven’t been back since. You can have great food but if the service is bad I will not endorse it.
Arrived 30 minutes before closing. Was told I wouldn't be served bc there were no tables. I wasn't even given the choice to order to-go. I am completely sympathetic because of covid and all the labor shortages, but I I think this could have been handled better. I've been eating here for over 5 years. Not encouraged to come back at this point.
