Service - was ok, kind of wanted to know what to order but was given some smirks as if they were annoyed. (No one else in line). It’s a hot 95 degrees, I wouldn’t blame anyone if that was the reason.Dessert - got the salted caramel tart. Tasted creamy, and have caramel sauce inside. Tart base was soft, but not crunchy. Just right.
Customer Service Ruined Great Food:First things first the cashier was super kind to me which is why I was so confused about the actual service. This was my first time visiting and I ordered some tarts, an iced coffee, and a quiche. The cashier asked me two times during our conversation if I wanted my coffee hot or iced and both times I told her iced. I also told her yes I wanted my quiche warmed when she asked what my preference was, she then asked me to wait a few minutes while she warmed it and grabbed the coffee. So I was surprised when she brought the food over to me and my coffee was hot and my quiche was ice cold. Again, she asked me to wait so she could warm it and then when she brought it to me a few minutes later it was ice cold and the iced coffee I ordered and repeated "iced" for twice was piping hot. Also it had cream included already but she left a good amount of room so it wasn't a full cup (Ill include a photo). Now I can't say why she did that exactly, I can guess as to why but I don't know for sure. What I do know is that her demeanor was a total 180 from the service I received--so much so that it felt intentional. But the tarts were tasted and looked amazing! I would definitely recommend those and the ambiance of the bakery but it's an honest 3 stars for everything else.
How is it that I tell just about every person that I know how great St. Germain is but I did not let my Google family know?? It's time to document this greatness!I have patronized this cafe more times than I would like to admit. I am glad that it is not in closer proximity to my residence because I would be in trouble. The cafe can be a little tricky to locate. If you are on foot and are next to Velvet Taco and/or Puttershuck you are in the vicinity. For reference it is across from Cathy's ice creams and next to Puttershuck. When you walk into this establishment you get the feeling that it is the real deal! St. Germains mission statement is "A little slice of France with a dash of southern hospitality." The mission has been achieved with the ambience, the presentation, the customer service and best of all the quality and taste of their food.Let's start with the service. Every time that I have opted to stop in the staff go above and beyond to provide a friendly and what appears to be genuine greeting. They also go out of their way to describe the desserts and answer any questions I may have. They far exceed my expectation for recommendable customer service. This time around I was convinced to try the Celeste Vanilla Mouse (White ganache, red velvet and fig.)I was won over with the description including red velvet cake! I also tried a raspberry violet macaroon. My friend ordered the Tropical ( Mango, banana and coconut mousse with pineapple panna cotta almond base), and the lavender macaroon. This was my friends first time visiting this cafe and she was won over on her first bite. While I enjoyed the options I went with, I do have to be honest and say that I enjoyed the tropical dessert and lavender macaroon the best! It was the combination of the fruits with coconut and that pie like base for me on the Tropical! If you like desserts that are fruity and not too sweet the tropical is a must try! The macaroons are just perfection! Macaroons should have a slight crunch, with emphasis on slight! St. Germain has perfected this art! You can't go wrong with any of the macaroons!I would also like to note that this place is always clean. We ended up being here after closing. We witness the staff cleaning the place and I was impressed. This is one more reason why I will continue to patronize this cafe.If you have not figured it out yet, I highly recommend this cafe. No the prices are not cheap. I think I paid about $12 after leaving a tip for my two items. I personally don't mind the cost. I think the cost is aligned with the quality product that you receive. The desserts are like tasty piece of art. If you are in the area you will be doing yourself a disservice to not stop in! I am sure you will find something you like. In addition to desserts they also have beverages and savory items to chose from. I look forward to coming back and experiencing other items.
Saint Germain off Howell Mill is a “Must Visit” when you’re visiting or a local resident here in W. Midtown. The pastries and desserts are of the high quality, aesthetically and taste.Staff is friendly. Location is amazing. A great place to come alone to read/study or come with significant other, friend, or someone who appreciates good coffee and sweets. Not for work, especially if you have zoom/team meetings. Could get a bit noisy due to foot traffic and the businesses next door.
We stopped by here while in Atlanta and these were some of the best pastries we have ever had. The cafe is clean and staff very friendly and helpful. The attached parking garage is affordable, I think it was about $1 for one hour. We will definitely come back to try more things next time we are in town. They also have lunch options.
Expensive tarts and drinks, but the quality is very good. Staff was friendly and welcoming. The tarts were very yummy! I don’t know if having them warm was an option, but if you can I’d ask them to warm it up.If you want to treat yourself, come here. Definitely a little once in a while shop to come to.
A lovely German bakery with a broad selection of baked goods to choose from. They have croissants, macaroons, danishes and tarts to name a few. They also have a few savory items like quiche and sandwiches as well. The location is inside of the Interlock building and next to a few other great offerings watch I look forward to trying. During my visit they were properly staffed so my wait time was minimal and the service was both friendly and helpful. If I'm the area, you should definitely treat yourself and pay them a visit.
Very nice bakery. There were lots of great looking pastries and chocolates. We tried 5 different desserts. All the bakes were well done and I loved the look of the pastries. However, 4/5 desserts lacked flavor or the flavors were way off. For example, the lemon bubble cake that we got had basil in it, but the basil and the lemon did not work and the dessert was overpowered with a very bitter basil. The one dessert that we enjoyed the most was the opera cake. Chocolate and espresso always go well together.
Love this place, they have the best and most delicious French pastries especially the strawberry tart and the traditional French dark chocolate, the staff is very friendly and the service is excellent, simply this place is one of my favorite places in Atlanta.
I really love this bakery & cafe?Desserts are beautiful and delicious, I will visit again, soon??The atmosphere inside is also fancy.
