We came to Atlanta for our first anniversary and enjoyed our stay. The food was delicious and our sever did a wonderful job. Didn’t have to wait to be seated. I recommend this place!! Will be back when I come to Atlanta again!
Man…I really wanted to love this place. I’d read other reviews and assumed people were being haters. We were told they were filled to capacity and were asked to leave our number so that we could receive a text when seats were available. After the 45 minute wait, we returned anticipating being sent a text soon. People were leaving the restaurant, no new people were entering…I went back in to inquire about availability and was told nothing was available. I went back outside and was told after 15 minutes that a table was ready. We were seated and placed our order. Moments later, the greeter asked if we were the same people who had asked for seats…she removed us from the list of people to text…??? I ordered the fried deviled eggs. Disappointingly, they didn’t have a nice texture nor taste. The strawberry lemonade was AWESOME, however. The other food I wanted to order was no longer available. We won’t be returning.
Service was absolutely great; the food was not. We order salmon bites and they tasted like they cooked it the day before and reheated them in the microwave. Greens on point; greenbeans oily. Fried chicken was bland, ribs had good flavor but could have been a bit more tender. Baked chicken was cold. This is not a place I recommend. ?
This was a great place to eat! I had the catfish and the collard greens with macaroni and cheese, and it was well worth it! The food is quite expensive, and there is an 18% fee that they add to the bill, which is alarming, so be prepared. The atmosphere had a pretty good vibe, but I felt like it was missing something; I just couldn’t put my finger on it. The bathroom toilet was broken as well as the trashcan, so there were some minor things that they could do to spruce it up, but the staff was friendly, and our waitress was very kind.
Where do I start? Customer service was horrible when we visited on 7/21 around 5:30-6pm. Being from out of town we asked about parking was given an answer with plenty attitude. Parked and came in placed on the waiting list, the wait wasn’t long about 15 minutes. The waiter who seated us was the only highlight! The two female waitress did not acknowledge any table in the area we were in even though they were working the area. The male waiter after about 10 minutes took our order when he noticed we were not being served. The food over priced, small portions, burnt, flavorless, fish tasted straight like dirt, Mac and cheese dry not cheesy, cornbread more like sponge. I would not recommend. I don’t recall seeing a sign for automatic gratuity! The drink taste like poison. I was disappointed, left hungry had to go eat somewhere else! Never again if your looking for soul food don’t go here! I am thankful the waiter tried and was very polite.
Had a wonderful and delicious meal with a colleague! He had the salmon with blackened peas and green beans, and I had the Alaskan white fish and smoked Gouda grits. Both meals were amazing! I really enjoyed and plan to return soon. Service was good and attentive. Went during lunch hour.
The food just wasn't good. What was suppose to be a sweet potato souffle was just smashed sweet potatoes with way too much nutmeg or something. It just wasn't fit to eat . Collard green and mac cheese came out cold. Chicken was ok but pricey , would've been better hot. Long as it took for food to come out it at least should've been hot. I ordered Bertha's chicken paid extra for white meat , u thought a breast came with it. . I got 4 whole wings, collards, and mac cheese $28 all which were cold and paid extra for a side(sweet potato souffle )that wasn't fit to eat.
Definitely won’t be back unless I’m picking up Togo and even then it’s a huge maybe! The food was amazing drinks were good but the service and customer care could use some work. I know hospitality isn’t a career for everyone but geez! Our server Lala was kind and courteous but the management was very sub par. Instead of hearing out my complaints she just said let me get your server. As a manger my self I found this completely unprofessional. You’re managing so manage. If your kitchen is backed up you go back there and help! Food or drinks need to be run run them. It seemed like there was absolutely no team work whatsoever every bartender and server for themselves. Also if you’re not a regular be prepared to wait at least an hour before you eat. The owner Kandie was the reason we went in because my mother in law watches her show. Apparently this has been a problem on the show as well. I think it’s time she hired a new manager.
After waiting an hour to be seated and told it would also be an hour wait for food at another restaurant, we decided to try OLG out. We had a party of five and was seated immediately. I wish I could remember our waiter name , he so friendly also very attentive. I got the fried chicken which was freshly cooked and seasoned , Mac n cheese which was also very good , the cabbages were cooked nicely but I was not a fan of the seasoning, I took two bites and gave the rest away. I also had a alcoholic drink ,that was pretty good and left me with a slight buzz. We also had cornbread , I liked the cornbread however I think they should have been left in the oven a tad bit longer. Overall I would definitely return
I agree that the parking is overpriced, perhaps $5 would be better because the lot is crumbled up and tree sap falls everywhere. The food was really good, but Lukewarm. The waitress complained that the 18^% tip has to be shared, but we gave her a 30% tip. I think the 18% gratuity is great because black people will not tip without it. Just try and make the experience great but the Parking is ghetto.
