Came here to dine with my family. Poor service.. the server wasn’t doing bad but the manager named Kenyatta was unprofessional with how she went about things. The food took over an hour to come out and all you see the manager doing is walking back and forth the dining room absolutely nothing. When we received the food, it wasn’t hot at all but thank God it tasted good. I’m not a fussy person at all and don’t usually complain about poor service, but I’m writing this review because we were just so disappointed with the service. I asked the server to get the manager to come speak to us about a discount because the food took very long and I was missing my plantains on my dish, also received the food and had to WAIT for silverware to eat, and I got 3 pieces of oxtail that barely had meat on it. She told the server to come back to us and tell us she cannot give us a discount because everyone’s food took a long time and she’d have to give everyone a discount. How did you as a manager think that was ok to say to a potential regular guest?! Even though we waited so long for the food, I had full intention to return because the food was good and it’s a black owned restaurant. Because of Kenyatta, neither of us will return. As a manager she should’ve came over and spoke to us herself and explain whatever she needed to. She clearly lacks the skill of a good restaurant manager. This business is a very good one and has great potential. Please to hire better managers to run your business before they run it to the ground.

The food was good, not great! My boyfriend is Jamaican and he's always looking for carribean spots. We were visiting from SC and this place was on our radar from "Put A Ring On It" so we decided to try it. It gives more lounge vibes, than restaurant vibes. The building is narrow and seating downstairs can be a little tight. It does have an upstairs. We didn't go up so I'm not sure of the layout. So it just depends on what you're looking for whenever you go out as to whether this location will suit you. The drinks are strong so that's definitely a plus for most.

Visiting from Southwest Georgia and decided to try the food here for the first time. I’m partially Jamaican and I felt like I was eating at my moms house. The food is AMAZING, the portions were more than enough, and the staff is friendly! I love that you have the option of sitting indoors or outdoors. The music was great, and the place is very clean! My husband and I will definitely be back!

Great curry’s , the jerk chicken outside of Jamaica. Must go place for good food and atmosphere. I’m a vegetarian and the rice and beans is best I’ve ever had. Cons: wine list can be improved.

I had been here about 5 years ago, so the family and I decided to go again. It still has a nice atmosphere and tasty food, with the exception of my rice and beans being cool. I also, saw a celebrity, in the private room, on my way to the restroom. Now, going to the washroom is not a comfy one. It's not too lit and one must walk up stairs, where it is quiet and sometimes no one else upstairs. Overall, I enjoy the food and atmosphere. Apologies for being long.

Great atmosphere. The food is flavorful enough for Jamaicans to feel their culture is embraced through the food but mild enough for Americans/ other cultures to appreciate the food and experience. Highly recommended whether for a small plate, date night feast, or family brunch

This place has really changed and NOT for the best. The food and music is still good. I miss the lady singer but the new band is good. I always left the brunch tipsy well not today. Drinks are water! They also overcharged us by $18. Please review your bill. Compare the menu prices to your bill. The listed prices are different then what was on the bill!

Enjoyed my experience. Live band was a nice touch, just need to tone the volume down a tad bit. Good good, staff was friendly.

Amazing food, Wonderful staff.. we will definitely be back again.

Came here with my parents, wife, and mother-in-law for Mother’s Day dinner. First, I have to say: make a reservation well in advance(at least a week) for days you know it’ll be crowded. Otherwise, make a reservation a couple days in advance for weekend slots. When it’s busy, which is often(especially on weekends), there is a 2-hour limit inside, so make sure your entire party is on time. The food was good, but the service was somewhat off. Speaking to the service, we got told to just go upstairs. Didn’t get escorted up to our table or anything. Once we got seated, our server basically tried to rush us through our drink & food orders. And while we waited, she seemed to give the other tables upstairs more attention than us. The music was great; not too loud. We were able to have table conversations very easily without having to yell. The venue was very clean including the bathrooms. We ordered a variety of drinks, and they were good & STRONG. For food, we started off with the jerk wings & codfish fritters. Both were excellent & had good flavor. For entrees, I had the jerk salmon, which was good, but the portion size on the salmon filet definitely could’ve been bigger. Sides of market veggies and whipped sweet potatoes were good. My wife initially the prime rib, but when it arrived, the cut of meat was NOT prime rib(we buy it from farmer’s market all the time, so we know). She sent it back and got the oxtails, which she enjoyed. Her sides, the rice and peas & plantains were good, the cabbage was not. My mom got the oxtails as well; she enjoyed. My dad got the jerk chicken, which came with plantains, rice & peas. He enjoyed it a lot. My mother-in-law got the escovitch snapper, which she enjoyed. Once the bill came, it was wrong, as the they charged my wife for the prime rib that she didn’t eat, instead of the oxtails that she did. Took 15 extra minutes and getting the manager’s attention to get the issue resolved. Also know that they automatically add on 20% gratuity onto your bill, so check it to make sure you don’t over tip, thinking it’s not on there. And you get one check for the table, but you can use multiple cards (or cash) to pay the bill. The atmosphere was beautiful with it being an old, renovated firehouse. The bathrooms are upstairs…there are A LOT of stairs. It’s not handicap friendly not having an elevator, or at least I didn’t see one. Parking on property is $12 if you can find an open space. Just pay at the machine before going inside.
