Such a cool spot to visit! Everyone is super nice! Those sweet potato Tater tots are to die for!
The food was solidly fine, but we probably waited over an hour for the food to come out. When it did, someone in our party didn't have their food come out bc the menu item was sold out. So after waiting for an hour for food, not all of it came out and it was only then they asked for a replacement order. Their front of house setup is weird, too. There's no one server assigned to tables, so it's just whoever is available. This resulted in lots of mixed messaging among staff (one offering a free entre to make up for the sold out item and delay in food while another ended up charging us).
Overcrowded, understaffed. Medium food. Come for the historical vibes (bar dates back to 1947) and hipster aesthetic. DON'T go on trivia night (unless you can get there an hour or two early).
Bad vibes here. Me (30 years old) and my friends who were 27 and 26 went in on March 28th. The server looked at our IDs for a long time before bringing the manager over. He was so weird and claimed one of the IDs was fake. He then accused my friend of overreacting and kept hovering and gaslighting us. We decided to leave and then he claimed that proved our guilt. Manuel’s Tavern seemed to think they were real and we had a nice time.
Moe's and Joe's has the best Ruben sandwich in Atlanta. The drinks are great and a great local place for people watching.
Had the pleasure of hanging here for the Superbowl. It was my first time and they did not disappoint.Short review: The Horace wings and chicken rolls were fantastic! The chicken tenders were overcooked and obviously from a frozen bag. The beer was cheap and good, and the service was stellar!Long review: The bartender, whose name I wish I'd gotten, was fantastic. She was polite and professional and even though she'd probably been dealing with subpar guests all night, she didn't let it show. The barbacks/bussers they had on that night were two young guys (probably like 15-17 years old) and they killed it! I've been in the industry for over 15 years and if I owned a restaurant/bar, I'd hire these guys on the spot. They were friendly but not too chatty because they were very focused on their jobs. Those two kids are gonna go far, seriously. I will be returning to try more food because tons of stuff on the menu looked really good. The food almost came out pretty quickly considering the number of people that were there and ordering food. If they get new chicken tenders or start battering them there, I will try them again and update my review. All-in-all, I had a great time.
So far this place hasn’t seen us for 15 minutes after being seated. We ended up having to ask to see someone. It’s possible the hostess let us down by not letting anyone know we were here. She through the menus down and walked away without word. Then when we asked about being seen there wasn’t an apology just an, “oh ok” we were seen after that but this is so far 2 star. I will edit stars accordingly after receiving the food.
Fun eclectic spot to hang out with friends. Great pitcher prices on Tuesdays.
