I visited this place today in search of some pho.I ordered the beef pho and the vegan pho for my wife to go.The beef pho broth was okay. The beef was low quality meat. It tasted like the parchment paper it was wrapped in.My wife doesn’t love pho as much as me but eats it time to time. The vegan pho she took a few bites and decided not to eat it and discard it. She said the broth had a lot of tamarin and was absorbed into the noodles which became mushy. Either there wasn’t enough broth for the noodles or it just absorbed into it.I’m not one to leave reviews but I like pho and hope this helps others.
Had an incredible dinner here and tried out so many dishes! The filet mignon was amazing and deliciously paired with watercress salad. The banh mi’s are spectacular here. The pate is made in-house and soooo goooood! I love the imperial rolls here. Everything was so delicious. I tried a couple of the non-alcoholic natural sodas and they were incredible. I’d buy cases of these beverages if I could! I also had the coconut shaved ice. I’m not a dessert person as I don’t have much of a sweet tooth but I’ve had Juniper Cafe’s coconut shaved ice before and had to have it again. It is exceptional. I’ve never had shaved ice that tasted this good. Juniper Cafe infuses coconut into the shaved ice and that’s what makes it taste soo goood! I can’t wait to come back here for dinner again!
Wow! I must say this is a most impressive first experience we’ve had with a restaurant. We’ve dined here twice now, and absolutely love. Do not miss the Imperial Rolls. Not kidding. It’s the menu item I’ll wake up thinking about for lunch on Sunday mornings! And the Pho is perfection. Layers of flavor. We recommend ordering it with one third the noodles. And the Vietnamese Hot Fried Chicken? It is VERY spicy-but wonderfully so and absolutely delicious. Don’t miss this lovely little gem! We hear they have French Pastries from 8-10 a.m. cannot wait to try!PS If you’re going for lunch and you’re hungry but not ravenous, split a Bahn Mi and Summer Rolls - so good!.
This new little restaurant is soooo good! First: the food. We had absolutely phenomenal food. My duck was unbelievable, and my husband devoured his hot fried chicken. Everything was fresh and flavorful and I cannot wait to go back and sample more of the menu. There is a range of price options and types of entrees, so it fits well with a broad type of budget or food preference!Second: the service. Excellent! So kind, helpful, and just overall great service that stood out.Third: the ambiance! I loved the large covered patio, the table settings, all of it.Five stars! Highly recommend!
So happy that this restaurant is close to where we live. The food is delicious, fresh, and top quality. The homemade sodas are phenomenal. Juniper Cafe makes food from the heart and soul. You can see it in how they present the food and how each menu item is thoughtfully executed. I am ready to go back again this week to try more from their menu.
Came in based off some research for good eats in Atlanta and was honestly surprised by how good the food is, the servings are on the smaller spectrum with focus on quality, over quantity. Juniper is well maintained & very clean and the staff attentive seating is a bit awkward overall for the lay out and comfort although one of the best restaurants I've had in Atlanta. Definitely deserves your attention.Food price depends on how much you need to satisfy, not ideal if you need to eat a lot as I do with my crazy appetite I spent $70 and could've kept going, still very satisfied.
Lazy Betty is one of my favorite Chef's Table experiences so when I heard Chefs Ron Hsu and Aaron Phillips were opening a casual Vietnamese cafe & bakery on the west side I was intrigued. Dropped in tonight for their Lunar New Year / Tet Celebration at the newly opened Juniper Cafe. Don't sleep on the Vietnamese Hot Fried Chicken or the Lemongrass Pork Chop on Bun Noodle Salad. And the Coconut Shaved Ice dessert is absolute perfection. Two thumbs up for a fast, casual, & super fresh meal. (KimTip: parking is free & plentiful. Juniper Cafe is located next to The Woodall on the west side. They won't have their liquor license for another week or so. The space is kid-friendly with an enclosed patio.)
Decided to check this spot out on a whim. Service was good... Food was good. Thought my bun was a little heavy on the onion but still good.. Unique peanut sauce.. Very clean establishment... They do add 20 percent on all checks. Good decor
They're in a plaza so there's plenty parking spot. One thing to know ahead is the tip already included in the check, regardless of how many people in your party. I don't have an issue with this practice since I know some restaurants do this too. But I think it's better if they state it on their website or mention it upon payment. Their method of checking out is a server will bring the card reader/swiper to your table and tell you the total, then you will select the tip and sign on it. Most of the case, customer will not notice or pay attention to check that the tip is already included. It's very easy to lead to unnecessary misunderstanding and double tipping. Most people will be fine with giving extra tip for the good service, but accidentally got into the situation of extra tipping and realizing it later after all is done only make people feel tricked.Aside from that issue, we had a good time. I went with my boyfriend and his parents. The service was good, everyone is very attentive and friendly. The decor is hip and modern with bright and colorful color palette. The food is not authentic but that is expected since it's a fusion restaurant. What I found interesting is they have custom made metal spoon and chopsticks in cooper color with the restaurant name engraved but the fork is a normal generic silver metal one.Our order:- Imperial rolls (there's 3 rolls in total, and they're very temperature hot, so be careful when biting straight in since it can burn your mouth).- Crispy okra (good crunchy and salty, like a chip snack)- Banh xeo/ Vietnamese crepe- Lemongrass pork chop- Vietnamese hot fried chickens- Vit quay/ Roasted duckAll the food taste good, and their natural sodas are also very tasty. We had the passionfruit soda and kumquat soda, and we enjoyed them both. Overall, I recommend the restaurant. It's a good try for Vietnamese fusion taste.
Amazing, inventive Vietnamese and unbelievable pastries. The restaurant has 2 weatherized patios. They sometimes close off the windows of main one if it's less than 30 degrees (so less covid-safe ventilation), but the 2nd patio is in a covered breezeway and always stays open. They also use HEPA filters!
