Lots of vegetarian/vegan options! I got the vegan platter & it was delicious. I also ordered sambusas and man, I wish I had gotten more than one order, they were SO good! I also enjoyed looking at the large photographs on the walls; gorgeous.
The food was good but VERY slow to arrive at the table. Also be ware the menu you access using the QRC code has no prices. The paper menu does, but they will tell you those prices are outdated and there is a hidden charge for "extra" injera. At most Ethiopian restaurants this comes with the meal. While the staff were very friendly, they are not attentive. There were several times when they disappeared for a while when we needed things (silverware, sugar, additional order) and did not come back unless flagged or they forgot to bring things we ordered. There were 3 of us at a table and they failed to take the 3rd persons order. By the time the order was taken and food arrived it was 45 minutes after everyone else at the table had their food. This is my second time trying this place and I dont think I'll be going back for a third.
Amazing service with an authentic atmosphere. Food was beyond great and I would gladly go back on a regular basis if I lived closer. Keep up the fantastic work!
I've gotten great service every time I've come in. The food is amazing and flavorful. They've got a decently sized menu that caters to just about everyone and their cocktails are incredible! Love the ambience of the place too. Great for a date spot or if you're looking for a new place in Atlanta to try. Would definitely recommend!
Elsa was our server, she made the best recommendations for our first time there. The manager (possibly owner) was also very friendly, I had the vegan platter it was amazing and the sambusa was the best I’ve ever had. Well priced, nice ambiance if I could give it 10 stars I would. Definitely will be returning and telling everyone I know about this place
I really love this place! Not only is the luxuriate atmosphere delightful, the food is AMAZING!!! I have been going for years, this is my girl time meet up spot with my friend TK. Its always clean and the owner is the most amazing women I've ever met in my life, she always takes great care of us. I get the Sagla Spris with salmon and greens, so good. I also enjoy the Sambusa and I've recently tried the vegan sampler. All delish!I have tried to recreate my favorite drink from this place and I continue to fail lol. I get a raspberry mule with patron (There are raspberries in it!!!). Ive tried the honey wine I think it is and shots from time to time.....Did I say I love this place?BTW I was so heartbroken during pandemic when I drove to you and was left with Desta for my birthday instead, please never close again.....As long as I'm in the country, ill be visiting! Oh and can you stay open 24 hours in case its 8am and I want a Mule. lolThanksShay
I ordered The National Dish of Ethiopia, the Doro Wat & finished off with some creme brulee. The injera bread was tasty & not as bitter as most elsewhere I've tried. That deep rich red sauce was freaking phenomenal with the chicken that came with it. Dessert was a perfect way to balance out the spice of the stew I had. I took the Habesha Kemem Shai tea to go since it had cardamom & cinnamon together, my favorite! Waitress was kind & attentive (Elsa). I initially went to Desta across the street but they were doing take-out only. I'm so glad I made the U-turn as I was really hoping to find a nice & quiet sit down spot with great Ethiopian food. This worked out perfect! Very lovely environment & super relaxing vibes. Ambience & decorations were on point. Try it out!
GO TO DESTA!!!! The food is NOT good and they over charged me. The lentils had no flavor and the Sembusa was cold. I do not recommend. I should’ve went across the street to eat.
Loved the ambience of the place. They had some interesting Ethiopian music playing. I can't comment about the authenticity of the food as I tried Ethiopian for the first time. The food is really healthy. I'm a vegetarian and they had good options! And it's close to Indian food as well. Most importantly the service is great! Kibret single handedly managed the complete restaurant. I'd definitely suggest trying the amazing drinks she makes.
Try the Lega Tibs Cubes of tender pieces of Lamb or Beef cooked with onions, garlic, tomatoes, jalapeños, and finished with rosemary and seasoned butter. (Served with Timatim salad.)
