Got the vegan assorted plate with extra injera (which was a good idea! Highly recommend getting more rather than less!) and SambusaThe sambusa was AMAZING. I think it was my favorite part. The injera was good too. But the vegan platter was a slight disappointment since I felt there wasn’t as much quantity various assorted vegetable dishes as I expected. And there was WAY too much raw tomato. On ordering they ask you what extra you want and I am fairly certain I chose chickpeas and not the salad but I still ended up getting the salad. It just made the injera extra soggy and wasn’t that great eating raw tomato so I just left that. The beetroot was kind of meh too, just boiled beets and not that much spiceThe rest of the dishes were good. Especially liked the yellow lentils and the shiro. Next time I will be more specific while ordering! Give it a try! Good and tasty vegan food ?
My go to spot for Ethiopian food in Atl. The food always hits. Portions are great. Kind staff. Quick service. Delicious af.
Very good. Don’t be put off by location or decorum. I felt like I step in a real Ethiopian cafe. They were inside speaking Ethiopian and also had Ethiopian music in background. Food was really good and served the correctly. Food priced fairly. So glad I chose this spot over fancier options.
We shared the kitfo beef and the awaze lamb. So amazing! The service was lovely and the restaurant clean and beautifully decorated. We will be back. And the Ethiopian tea is indeed delightful.
If I could give Embilta 10 stars, I would. The reviews are correct. VERY delicious. We had 2 chicken dishes and the veggie dish. Great portions. Tender chicken, perfect spices - I’m sure she made it milder for us out of towners. The owner was very nice. The tea was delicious. If you live here or are just stopping through, a must have meal.
Fabulous food, incredible service. The owner really cares and you can taste the love in her food. We asked for an Ethiopian dessert, she said she didn't have any, so we ordered coffee. A few minutes later she came out with a beautiful platter of cookies to satisfy our sweet tooth. Not only that, she brought out a lovely spiced cup of tea for the one of us who didn't order coffee. Immaculate service, delightful food.
Best Ethiopian food in Atlanta!! I recommend the veggie platter and the lamb tibs. A MUST try.
Insane food here! Deeply spiced, big portions for the price, meats were EXCELLENT quality, everything was stupid fresh and hot and cooked right before it was brought to the table. Super friendly service and hospitality was off the chain. The owner is a rockstar. I can't wait to come back!
The food here is very good. The presentation style is humble and down to earth. They take pride in their work. It may be hard to get to them due to the road construction going on right now (March 2022), so you may have to actually route yourself to Mama's Mexican first, which will take you to the other side of the construction blockage. Then if you put in the Embilta Cafe name, it will take you there from the "good" side of the road.
We LOVE Embilta. Can’t get enough of it! The Embilta Special is such a great assortment of different flavors and textures. Definitely our favorite dish to get, and so filling for two people. If you’re navigating via Google Maps, make sure you approach from the south, coming from the Piedmont/Cheshire bridge intersection!
