They are crowded. Too crowded. As a Diamond Medallion member and holder of an AmEx Reserve card (both of which provide me access to sky clubs), I’m finding myself losing interest in continuing my membership in sky clubs. Not just ATL. Most airports. Delta needs to find a solution because I have to believe it’s going to lead to a loss of loyal customers like me.
Unlike other great airlines like Alaska or Hawaiian, these lounges are closed to anyone who even paid full price for a first class seat. You have to be a mega-mileage members or a Platinum AE holder. Your expensive first class ticket gets you nothing at Delta's lounges.
I appreciate the clean facilities and the comfy chairs but the lounge was jammed packed and to get a drink it was a long wait
Had a two hour layover. Pleasant lounge with plenty of room. It had two sections and both areas had hot/cold menus. I only went to the lower level bar, so not sure if this was the only bar. Nice variety of drinks, but just stuck to the complimentary champagne. ??
This lounge in concourse B in Atlanta is one of the larger ones. As crowded as it was, I had no trouble finding a seat, and that's starting to be a treat in some airport lounges. The food is nothing like it was before COVID but is improving, and that's always good.Update: I visited this lounge again recently, and the quality of food and drinks have improved dramatically! Almost at the pre-COVID level!!Update 1: I go through ATL about 2 to 4 times a month, and this lounge in concourse B is still one of my favorite. It's usually very busy, but it is large enough to accommodate the crowd. The quality of food and beverages are continuously improving.
In the Delta Lounge in concourse B, go see Mac for the best bartending service you will ever experience. He is professional, fun, and very efficient. He will customize your drink to however you like, such as how much ice and mixer you like. Mac will make your layover in Atlanta worth the wait.
Luxuries? It is in comparison to the outside airport world. There are different airport launches. E14 is international has better and more choices, showers (not during covid), bigger bar (all the bartenders are fun, please tip them with more then the usual 2$...lol.\\nFood is fine, nothing truly majorly fantastic. But today I was wrong, excellent jambalaya, lovely white pepper spice. Learned to avoid 'Amsterdam' Vodka (from Gallo...). Free with Delta Gold. Silver $39 p.p. for what you get $39 is a bid much, but both launches were packed. So either lots if gold and diamond travelers or the price does not matter. We enjoyed our \\\"luxury\\\".
The Sky Clubs, especially in Atlanta, are too big, impersonal, and crowded. The food is often a combination of strange salads, cold pasta, and unusual soups like pesto. It would be nice if they offered even an option at some routine normal food choices without trying to always be "fancy." I mean, how about pot of beef chili or a taco bar. There is often a line for drinks, especially in the B terminal.
It wasn't a typical day in the Delta Sky Club. First there were 20 people in line waiting to get in but the line did go quickly and the people who check you in are always pleasant. Once I did get in it was quite crowded and there weren't many places to sit except at the computer cubes. There may have been some tables somewhere but I just wanted a little breakfast before my next flight.\\nSurprisingly there wasn't a long line for food. So I quickly got some mini quiches and some yogurt with granola, nuts and Blueberries. All the trays had plenty to choose from as they did a good job keeping everything stocked. I did noticed that they did not have many sweets. Usually there are cookies or brownies that I like to carry on the plane. Also the oatmeal was at the end of line away from the toppings. Thought it was in an odd place. Another thing that was amiss was various fruit such as apples, bananas and oranges were missing. I use them as an alternative snack to the sweets. I believe if/once the supply chain gets moving missing items will be available.\\nI know it sounds hectic but it wasn't. Everything went smoothly. So overall it was a pleasant experience.
Delta Sky Club in Atlanta is perfect for those times when you need to kill some time between flights. Comfortable seating, cold drinks, hot drinks, fruit, snacks, soup, hot food and sandwiches are all ready available. You can also power all of your devices with USB and regular power outlets.
