A slice of mushroom quiche with a few side potatoes was $14.99. The mushroom quiche was barely warm and bland. It was more like a slice of canned mushroom pie. Most lunch meals were $13.99 to $16.99. The kids item was $11.99. Croissants were good but at $4.90, not worth it. Macarons were around $3.00 each. They were ok. Coffee came out after 7 minutes of sitting around and I had already eaten the croissant. The only awesome thing was the baguettes that we took home for $5.00 each. It was one of the best baguette I have had in a long time. However, with the prices of everything, I will not go back.Further Comments: (Posted after response from owner.)Best baguette in a long time, you nailed that. But everything else was mediocre at best. Had you simply apologized, sucked it up, and said we will try to do better, maybe I would have tried again. But when you start to deflect the criticism and defend the poor food quality and lack of service by saying that eating at your place saves me money from going to the doctor, I guess I need to drop the two stars down to one.I waited 7 minutes for a coffee! I ate my croissant in that time. Could not enjoy the two together. I get homemade and prefer that but when my wife's quiche comes out luke warm at best that means someone couldn't reheat yesterday's food properly. And bland doesn't have to be unhealthy. But when there are more canned mushrooms than egg in the quiche, you have to wonder about the culinary skills. There were only four or five tickets that had come in the 25 minutes. Plus there were only five or six tables being used. The outside tables---where we wanted to sit---weren't even bussed or cleaned off. The staff---I get it during these times with staffing and retention and training---performed mediocre and the food matched. Maybe it was an off day for your place, but there is nothing that will make me come back with another approach. I passed way too many other bakeries and cafes to visit yours. I can try others. Good luck.
I have repeatedly heard good things about Cafe Vendome but I had never passed through the doors to try it. The service was outstanding and truly exceeded by the quality of food. The food was well prepared and delicious to the last bite. The only downside we experienced is some menu items were unavailable: ingredient shortages or sold out for the day. Remarkably, when my wife heard her item was not available they asked whether they might make something similar that is not on the menu. What they created was almost the same and also delicious. I look forward to coming back soon!
I really wanna love this place, but we didn’t have a great experience. All the pastries looked great. The croissant we had was fine, didn’t feel it was fresh. We went for brunch and the food was also okay but it took a really long time though. The ambiance was really nice.
What a gem. We stumbled upon this place and the atmosphere was so cute and authentic feeling. Food and pastries were super yummy and my London Fog was the best I’ve had.
Tried for the 1st time, wife loved their pastry, Not a fan of dark roasts but liked their Coffee, got orange juice for son it was an actual freshly squeezed plain juice of well selected oranges. Will definitely visit again and recommend others.
Went in looking forward to getting some really good pastry. Very disappointing. Only 2 guests in the cafe . So not busy. 2 employees behind the counter that could not stop their conversation long enough to greet me. After standing at the pastry case with no help I had to start walking over to counter at which point one of the girls said hello and that was it. I had to tell her I wanted to get pastry in order for her to come over to the very sparse case. I chose 1 fruit tart ,2eclair and 1 chocolate mousse tart, at least that’s what I was told it was. Rather than having pastry boxes for their pastry my items were put into 2 styrofoam boxes. Since when do bakeries put pastry in styrofoam? At checkout I ordered a hot mocha. My bill came to 25.00$. I went to drink my mocha and it tasted like it was just hot milk. We went to eat the pastry tonight and the eclairs were only 1/2 filled with completely overcooked pastry cream. Literally 1/2 of the eclair had no filling whatsoever. Oh and the chocolate mousse tart ? It was a chocolate and strawberry mousse tart. I will never return. A complete waste of money. They got 1 star because this review would not post unless there was a rating.
