? ? Great pizza! Their sister restaurant Gio's is one of my favorite pizza spots so I was really excited to try this place. They did not disappoint. We arrived around 1:30 on a Tuesday for lunch and there was plenty of seating. We ordered the Diavola and Sophia. I LOVE Calabrian peppers in a pizza ??, but I wasn't a fan of the salami. It didn't really add anything to the flavor profile to me. The caramelized onions on the Sophia added sweet and savory that was perfect. It was our favorite of the two pizzas. And I really liked the crust. Buttery with the perfect amount of chew. The pizzas are a good size with pretty large slices. And they came out much quicker than we expected. Can't wait to go back
Don’t believe 4-5 stars. It’s good in the sense they do a good job for the volume they do due to the location. The food is a notch above acceptable when you’re hungry but beyond that it’s far from exceptional. It’s overly salty (which is fine if you've been smoking or drinking beer all day), It’s very noisy in there so you can’t hear them call your name when food is ready, and beyond all, there is zero table service. Want a to go box? Get up from the table and go get one. They drop food off and run yet there is a spot on the card transaction to leave a tip at the counter when pre-paying for food. I’ve never understood this concept of tipping for self service or doing so for food before food is delivered. I don’t want to imply that I do not recommend the place…..only that 4-5 stars is very generous.
For everyone who said the pizza was worth the price of the Lyft ride, you were right!I loved the pepperoni and my daughter loved the sausage pizza. The crust dough wasn't too think and the crust was perfect for dipping in the canister of extras like olive oil and garlic.
Unfortunately, our experience did not match all the great reviews.Drove 30 minutes, in the rain to get here and not impressed. I will say the Gelato and the salads were great, but we came here for the pizza. (I will also mention, for others that don't know, there's only one option for salad and dressing)Unfortunately, I didn't take any pictures but our Margherita pizza did not look anything like the pizza everyone else posted pictures of. There were no white spots where you could tell there were slices of mozzarella, just thin, greasy, yellow patches that honestly looked like they just sprinkled a lot of Parmesan cheese in certain spots and then one leaf of basil on each big slice of pizza. Honestly, not much flavor either. It's also VERY loud. We came here for a family meal but we could hardly hear each other if we talked very loud. I had to yell at the lady at the counter to place our order.Sorry to all of you people who really enjoy this place but it was just not at all what I was expecting, it hoping for. I have had really, really good brick oven pizza before and this was not it.
Been several times now and have never been disappointed. Every pizza is amazing. The bar tenders are all attentive and friendly. The pizzas are made quickly. They are large enough to share easily with 4 people. They have two cases of soft drinks as well. There is also a coffee and ice cream caffe. There's a 10% discount for employees in the Battery. Ask for the meatballs. They are a hidden menu specialty that come with flat bread and are soooo good. Prices are fairly reasonable as well. Highly recommend.
I had the margarita pizza and it was good. Only downside is that place has open seating and it can get packed/crowded easily along with the loud music you can barely hear anyone. Definitely more bar vibes type of place to drink and eat vs. eat and sit down and have a convo.
Great atmosphere. Those wood burning ovens sometimes work too well. Or maybe our pizza was left in a little too long. The taste was great. I wish they weren't so stingy with the topping. Oh! The beer was good and cold just the way I like it.
Love the pizza, but itis impossible to have a convo inside. Just LOUD. Take your pie and your beverage and go enjoy it at one of the many outdoor tables. Even on a cold evening, it is pleasant.
Their San Gennaro is my favorite pizza from my favorite pizza joint in Atlanta. First time at this location, but have eaten at the original in Atlanta and at Avalon. Great pies and no question as to why they continue to be so highly rated. No pictures because I ate the evidence!
Terrible service. Unable to make a pizza for me that I wanted. ( unbelievable because they make them to order) When I asked I was told “we just don’t do that here. You can only have what’s on the menu how we make it! My entire family had finished eating before I got my food. I had to go up to the counter to get mine and it was just sitting there. They had served multiple people in front of me that came in after I did. Once I asked the girl at the counter rolled her eyes at me and then gave it to me. Absolutely terrible place!!
