Food 7 service -10. Took five minutes to get a menu, ten minutes later took the drink order. Another 15 to take the food. Over 20 minutes for the food to arrive and they weren't very busy. Didn't get a refill. Never saw my waiter, had to wave down a girl to get the check. Then after 15 minutes had to track her down to get the card back. I saw three tables get seated, served, and left before i was finally able to leave. Honestly ridiculous.
My family enjoys every excuse to go to Tlaloc, and I hadn’t even realize my original review for them never posted. I’m posting pictures from a dine-in experience a month ago and a to-go experience this week. You’ll notice an abundance of chimichangas. Pork is my favorite, but the steak is also well done. I usually go with a shrimp dish, so I like the quesadilla, the cocktail, and the seafood fajitas, which also include squid and fish. Unlimited horchatas is certainly a way to my heart as well. My kids tend to eat the basic quesadilla and fries. There are so, so many things on the menu though that it can definitely be overwhelming. Go anyways. Look at pictures. Ask for recommendations. They are also almost always packed, but we have always been able to find parking, even at the far end of their side gravel lot. I recommend trying them out. Always a good time.
Great service and food! Loved the atmosphere.
My favorite place to go for comfortable setting and good food in Athens. Their margaritas are the best in town. Go during the middle of the day when it's less crowded. Everyone goes for dinner and of course service will be slower if the place is packed.
Best Hispanic restaraunt in Athens, hands down. We showed up on a busy night with a party of 8 and although they didnt have the seating available they asked some nice patrons if they would mind moving, so they had us sat down in 10 minutes. The food is nothing short of outstanding as well. Highly reccommend this well established restaraunt.
It looks like a hole in the wall but the food is the best authentic Mexican food I have tasted in Georgia so far. The Cancun is so good. Haven't had this good since El Paso, Texas. No frills. Do not judge a book by it's cover. And ohh yeah the service is great too!
Food is sub-par at best, service took FOREVER, they forgot part of our order after all that, and the food they did bring all had jalapeños in it which we asked them to leave out. My drink was wrong, so I asked them to take it off the bill and the server said she was sorry, but she “couldn’t.” ? The bathroom was worse than a truck stop AND was out of toilet paper and soap. So. Gross.
I was driving through Athens and hit find me a restaurant. This place popped up so we stopped in. Love the atmosphere love the old couple that run the place. It was great authentic Mexican food. And if you’re looking for something spicy ask him to bring you some of the fresh habanero sauce. It will light you up both directions. Lol.
Authentic. The weekend special, beef soup is a bit expensive considering mostly potato, radish, corn, only two pieces of meat. The tacos are great.
HOLY GUACAMOLE!!! This is the greatest restaurant of all time. No seriously the best place ever. I fully approve of everything they do.
