Absolutely phenomenal guacamole with wonderful thin chips. Tiny poke tacos were to die for. If these two things are any indication, its a fabulous restaurant.
Thw food was good. The service was fast. It would have even nice if the server checked on us duing the visit. It was a group of 9. She bever refilled waters or asked if everytbing was okay. She pulled everyone's checks and cards at the end of the table and it was left up to us to pass them out. I guess that's what an automatic gratuity gets you.
One of my favorite places in Athens. The concept of a Mexican and Asian fusion restaurant is a great idea - executed perfectly by Taqueria Tsunami.Every time I go there, I ALWAYS order the Asian Nachos. Imagine this: Crackers from your Chinese Takeout…but in the shape and size of a Nacho. The pulled pork and queso on-top make this easily my favorite dish ever. Sometimes I order the Taco entree, sometimes I get the Tuna Bowl, but I always start off the the Asian Nachos.As for the service, they are very quick and efficient. Plus they are super kind and nice whenever you come in. The way they call you whenever a table is open is pretty efficient. One night, I was with a group of friends. While we waited to get our tables, they let us go across the street to go to the Flanagan’s Pub. At Flanagans, we played a round of Billiards until they gave us a call - telling us that our table is ready.My friends and family say I’m a guy that’s easy to please, and this restaurant easily pleased me 100%.
Taqueria Tsunami in Athens was delicious. It took a minute to get seated, but once we did Declan was professional and responsive. It was no problem to make a couple modifications for our plant-based diet. We will definitely be back when we are in Downtown Athens again.
Hands down one of the best restaurants in Athens! Kogi BBQ empanadas are the best! (It comes with 3 empanadas, but I was hungry. Lol)

Our service was good, but our food wasn’t all that great from the beginning. Our cheese dip was cold, tacos were soggy and lacked flavor and sauce. Epps Bridge Taq is way better!
The food is incredibly delicious! the quantile fresco appetizer was fantastic! All of our tacos and quesadillas were phenomenal! the Fried Yuka was fabulous, as was the cucumber salad. Salsa is yummy! love those restaurant!
I was the first customer for lunch but the place was dirty with food crumbs on the tables and dust on the booth wall. I should have left but I went against my better judgment and ordered two appetisers. One was OK. I had it at other locations and it was much better. The other appetiser (empanadas) was not good at all. The waitress asked me about my food. I told her I did not like the empanadas. She asked if I wanted something else and I said no. She brought me a check with the two appetisers on it. I paid it but was disappointed.
My favorite restaurant in Athens!! This is the spot to go if you are looking for delish food at a really good price. My favorite go-tos are the Asian Nachos (literal heaven!!) and the short rib quesadilla. Their tacos and bowls are also good. The servers here are so sweet and accommodating.
