The tamales, (brisket and green chili) were a home run. As a California refugee these bring me back where I could get tamales like this. Famtastic tamales!

My first stop by. Very beautiful people! I told them this is my first visit. They immediately offer me a couple of samples. I liked the samples. The bar b que was sòooo tender and the sauce was great ?. They are a place that is # 1on my list. Will visit in 2 days. THANKS! YOU GUYS

After passing the location for years and seeing many a restaurant fail at the location, my expectations were low when stopping by - I was mistaken.I am a brisket stickler, and this is the best brisket (with competitions not even close) in town and possibly area. I haven’t come across that quality of marbling and meat anywhere in GA. Even though the collards were OK, the brisket will keep me coming back. Next time, I will just get brisket and bun.
Let me start buy saying this was not a unpleasant experience nor was I unpleased with the food, the portions sizes were in my opinion for the price a little small, with a respectable tip your around 18$ for a plate . Also the corn bread was a tad dry. But the brisket was fantastic. Definitely gonna try the menu hopefully the owner sees this and takes it as constructive criticism and not a negative.

Every time I come to Athens I get Tamez. Best brisket I’ve ever had. The ribs are awesome and it’s a unique place!!! The breakfast is freaking awesome too! I hope this place can stick around!

brisket burrito is the apex of the two things they do better than anyone else--brisket in a homemade tortilla. This is not to say that everything else isn't good, because it's allllll good! my favorite lunch is pork tacos with coleslaw, or the brisket burger on Saturday. Do yourself an extra favor and get a side of cornbread to go for breakfast the next day!
