Fantastic food- the chicken saltimbocca was definitely one of the THE BEST meals I’ve EVER had- and wonderful service! We had a very large group and they were so welcoming and accommodating! Highly recommend!!
Fun date night dinner. Hostess was efficient, accommodating, and friendly. Venue is clean and romantic. Jazz trio added ambiance and class. Food was mostly 5 star. Oysters were perfectly fried and seasoned. Green beans, mashed potatoes and mixed green salad were all perfectly executed. The strip steak was perfect. The "crab cake" is where it went off the rails. All filling, no crab. Hugely disappointing. Overall, a terrific meal.
Have heard very good things about Porterhouse Grill, and they seem to be true. While the main meals were very good, including making an off-menu vegetarian entree for 1 member, 2 filets were undercooked (which is better than overcooked! ) but very tasty, and went well with the mashed potatoes and greenbeans. But the star of the meals were the starters - 1 gigantic wedge salad, well covered with bacon and blue cheese chunks and the fried oysters, on a spicy, not quite Buffalo-like sauce... THOSE I will come back for!
This restaurant is conveniently located in downtown Athens. The interior is nice without being ostentatious. The fried oysters were delicious and possibly the best thing on the menu.The food was solid but not excellent. For example, my filet mignon was not very tender. The shrimp scampi lacked flavor and the shrimp was not particularly fresh.I was disappointed by the plating. The side dishes was very small for a steakhouse and they just plopped it on a plane white plate without much care for presentation. You can judge for yourself in the pictures I am attaching.Although the place is named porterhouse, there is not a porterhouse steak on the menu. My glasses of Malbec was meh.The pricing is reasonable for a high end steakhouse. Overall, I would say an average non-chain steakhouse, maybe slightly above average.
I came here with my boyfriend for our anniversary and everything was amazing. Not only was our waitress such a sweet heart and super attentive, but the food was superb.We got the she crab soup as an appetizer and omg was it savory and delicious with little chunks of crab meat. My NY strip was cooked perfectly and paired amazingly with the cheese butter on top. We finished the night with a warm molten chocolate cake with ice cream. It was seriously amazing and we will definitely be back!
I like the porterhouse and the wife enjoys the filet! Service is usually good (for Athens (lol) and the locations can't be beat. Great wine selection!
Great Service Shrimp Cocktail good with homemade dip. Bread good. $11 Red wine by glass is good. Had the sirloin special which was not prime. Asparagus and potato OK. Filet enjoyed by friend.
Wonderful experience. Very clean rest room, sanitizers well-placed in strategic locations. The staff were all attentive and friendly. The food was very tasty. I shall definitely return.
