There is usually 3 of us in our party. Usually go there2 times a month. This time we had friends with us. The waitress asked us why we didn't tip her big money, when we come in. We always leave a tip everytime we go. The whole restaurant heard her fussing at us. Very embarrassing! We left, but before I walked out the door. I spoke to the Manger about her. Don't think anything will happen. But I know we will not go back!
We had our second dinner here last night. It was very good! Huge portions, fast, friendly service.I was impressed with the Hot and Sour soup. It was delicious!We are relatively new to Athens and can see why this was recommended to us! So far, it's one of our favorite dining spots.
Easily.... still the best Chinese food in Athens. Not in it's hey day so to speak...but still always delivers a great product. House special shrimp, Peking chicken, garlic chicken, Mongolian beef....all the soups and appetizers are high quality and delicious.
Unbelievably disappointed in this place. I found a hair in my food, not once, but twice. Horrible food for $80!!! Ordered shrimp CHOW MEIN and got whatever is in the picture. Chow mein noodles are supposed to be crispy!! After YEARS of never having problems with the food here, this is a massive rip off and disappointment that has us saying, "Not again." Really considered bringing this back to the restaurant and demanding my hard earned money back because we couldn't even eat this. Unbelievable.
Sadly disappointed in what i ordered. It taste more like like chicken soup than Chinese food.
Peking Restaurant has been in the Athens area for many years. At one time in two different locations. Great food and service. Love their Mongolian beef that's what I always order when I go in that among other things I try to go in and have dinner with them at least once a month sometimes it's too much but I do make it I love the food. Appetizers like paper chicken all that good stuff I love it all I can feel the page up but excellent place to have dinner lunch I like to say again I'll try to go at least once a month out on the Atlanta highway Athens Georgia.
All I can say is, everything has completely went downhill for this place. I started the new year off with food poisoning from sizzling rice soup and Snow White chicken!!The chicken dish has particles of what tasted like burnt metal in it. Keep I mind it got the snow whit chicken to go. I had diarrhea, vomiting, shakes, & chills. An absolutely terrible evening from consuming their food products.I Will Never Be Back!!! And Will Tell Everyone To Take Business Elsewhere!!!
This place used to offer a wonderful buffet that was stocked with lots of different offerings and was always delicious. The buffet was closed when the Covid scare hit and has never been reopened, even though their sign still advertises that it’s open.My wife and I decided to have lunch there yesterday so we were seated and given a menu. When the waitress came to take our order, we each had decided on a meal from the lunch menu. We were then told “no lunch on Sunday- dinner only.” Their lunch menu doesn’t specify the hours or days that lunch is available, and I’m left wondering why you can’t order lunch on Sunday.I have several issues with this policy:(1) personally, I like to eat lunch every day- my stomach doesn’t know or care what day it is.(2) I realize that the dinner portion is larger- I can’t eat, nor do I want more than the lunch portion. I don’t want to throw away uneaten food, I don’t want to have to immediately take the leftovers home to refrigerate and I don’t want to stink up my truck hauling the General’s chicken around.(3) In light of my aforementioned reasons, I don’t want to pay the additional $8- $10 penalty to have Sunday lunch at Peking.I forgot to mention that we did get up and leave- took our business up the street- where nobody cares what day you want to eat lunch!

I've always loved Peking. Hands down the absolute best hot and sour soup I've ever had. Probably best Chinese in the state if you ask me. Plus it's a cool building.
