I live in SC, but am from Athens. I travel in the area and will make a point to stop and pick up their 5 lb bag of coffee beans. Usually it is a darker bean for our Jura Classic machine so I can set the machine to mild for my coffee and my husband likes it set on regular. We’ve had our machine for 15 yrs and are very particular about beans. Jittery Joe’s is some of the best out there. The owner is fantastic and loves to talk about how he makes the beans if you get a chance to talk to him. Their coffee make great gifts too!
Best coffee in Athens. Love the roaster because it’s so uniquely Athens (watch the trains go by on a lovely day) and when you order a pound of coffee your beverage is free!
No one knows how to roast coffee like jittery Joe's! You just can't find this level of care and quality in any large batch roaster.

Just moved to the area and had to travel an hour to check this place out. Hit Trader Joe's while in Athens as well, so worth the drive. Got Wake and Bake and Traveling' Joe, and both are fresh and rich tasting. Will make this trip once a month for sure! Shout out to Patrick for his help. Positive, smiling guy who makes you feel like a regular. Definitely put this place on your to do list. We visited the roaster, not the coffee shops.

My family loves to come here and pick up coffee when they are in town! You can come to pick up pounds of coffee or just grab an espresso! Went this last weekend to get several gifts and the girl working was so helpful! Definitely stop by one of the many locations if you are visiting Athens - the wonderful smell of their coffee is worth a visit alone!
