Great brews, great food, wonderful service, nice atmosphere! Though I think that sums it up I will provide some details.Came in on a Tuesday lunch. We were seated immediately. Everything was clean and shiny! Our waitress Madison was excellent and attentive. Super friendly but gave us space!Lots of beer choices and they do offer the option to taste the different varieties. I also saw someone trying a flight of beers. A great idea.The food was hot and excellent. They were out of fish and chips, but the burgers were wonderful.It's a nice venue, with ample seating indoors and an outdoor patio.The bar is huge and looks shiny and high-tech. As does the brewery!Bathrooms were clean.This is a hidden gem and is a great place to share with visitors that want a high quality unique experience.There is plenty of parking.This place is kind of hidden. The landmark for your turn is the old gray bus with their logo on it. And there's plenty of parking.Highly recommend it for casual drinks, an interesting conversational date night, or a good meal. Ask for Madison!
What a wonderful microbrewery with excellent beer choices (I enjoyed especially the IQ IPA) and great food. And Andrew is the best and most entertaining server. Went there twice in 3 days of my stay in Athens!
This was my first time visiting the area, and before leaving, I wanted to try one last local favorite. I’m glad my host/date suggested Akademia for brunch!Although there was a wait, we were quickly able to find a few seats at the outdoor bar. The weather was absolutely beautiful which made our seating choice even better. We were even able to see many of the cars included in the car show that was being held in the parking lot!We both ordered the Tripleta Home Fries. For our beverage choices, he added the IQ and I had the Imperial O-Negative. Neither of us were disappointed. Our food and drinks arrived in a timely manner, and our server was very kind and attentive. I will definitely return here and recommend this location to everyone. Thank you!
We really enjoyed our dinner at Akedemia tonight! I got the pretzel bun hot dog that is served with the Ale Cheese Dip and Honey Mustard (both of which were delicious) and added a few veggies to the Dawg for extra flavor. I’m DEFINITELY coming back and getting it again! The outdoor patio was so chill and lovely to enjoy too. Great atmosphere.
Akademia is a great place for music and great drinks. Surprisingly, their food is also really good! I say “surprisingly” because other breweries in Athens either don’t have food or they’re just okay. They always have the games on and have a great atmosphere to bring friends to share some drinks with. One group had a birthday party outside where they had wine and live music! Really great place- try the Skal
We found Akademia Brewing when we needed to kill time. Convenient location, excellent service. Most importantly, delicious food & beer! We had the mushroom burger and fish & chips. Bit were excellent, highly recommend! Dog friendly (and our hound enjoyed a few fries).
Definitely my favorite brewery anywhere in the Athens area and one of my favorites in the state! The craft beer here continues to get better every time I try a new one from them. This is a brewery, but they also have a full bar and great food menu! Awesome place.
Passing through the area from out of town, I was looking for a bite to eat. Stumbled upon this place and to be honest, I didn’t expect much. I thought I could at least get an ok beer and some bar food. This place is a 10/10. The food is amazing, the staff is happy and eager to make all the customers feel at home and everyone is super attentive. Nate and Caroline are professional and friendly bartenders. I had such a completely good time here. The vibe is so cool because every customer is happy. Very well done to the family that runs this brewery. Please check them out! Met the GM outside my bank and engaged her in conversation because she was wearing the Akademia hoodie. She invited me try her company out, so her I sit writing this review after having thoroughly enjoying a glass of their wheat beer, Skal. If u enjoy wheats you will enjoy Skal! It has more body than Shock Top and other whets I have tried with no unpleasant aftertaste. I paired the drink with a mushroom burger & fries which also went down well. If you are in Athens, GA looking for a place to relax and enjoy, give Akademia a try!
The server was kind. It was super cold in the restaurant. Other than that no complaints we ordered the hummus and watched the super bowl on the big screen. Awesome environment.
