Good food and service. We had dinner here on Sunday night - came in without a reservation for a party of 4 and got seated right away.Everything we had was very good - served hot and fresh including the appetizer which we had deconstructed because we had folks who don’t care for spice. I especially enjoyed the desserts. The butter cake with ice cream is absolutely delicious.
Had called to make reservations over a month prior as meeting friends then going to a concert at the amphitheatre. They suggested I call to confirm closer to the date so I did and the guy didn't have down but said he would put our party down for the next day. When we got there luckily it was empty so we could get seated but no note of our reservation. Got seated and took a while to get drinks while waiting for rest of party. Then took a while to get waitress to take order. Food slow so we ended up having to rush. Nobody seemed to like their food either. Then to add insult to injury as we were rushing to pay check, the waitress had a couple of drinks erroneously added to my friends check.
I wanted to try something different and out of the norm. So we found this little place while visiting Alpharetta and i ordered the Meatball skillet with cheese grits and a side of Brussel sprouts. Sounds like an odd combination but it worked! The flavors were wonderful...the Brussel sprouts were cooked to the right texture but were a little bland. Overall I was pleased. And Our waiter was so sweet and attentive.
Great food! The sweet potato fries were awesome! Went for a business lunch and it was a great visit. Plenty of variety on the menu for the group. Will definitely be back again.
Yummy ? Butter fat delish! Had to try it out before leaving the airport. Gotta try local on National Ice Cream Day (a day late).
Very clean and customer service was excellent. We had shrimp and grits, grouper Hemingway, and blackened chicken Alfredo for lunch. All was good and well portioned.
The service seems to be sliding down each time we visit. We had Erica as our server, and she was extremely unfriendly. We waited an hour and a half after being seated, and the food was wrong. The management doesn't seem to have a handle on what is going on. We have been regulars at Village Tavern since 2000, and have no plans to return any time soon.
Waited 10 minutes standing next to a dirty table in the bar area for someone to come clean the table, even after going to the bar and requesting the table be cleared for us. After someone just happened by to notice us standing and waiting, they cleaned the table. But the wait didn't stop there. Total time being there was 2.5 hours. When server came the first time, she said, tell me everything you want now if you can. WOW, talk about service. ? Or drink order took 30 min. Never asked us for a second. Food took very long time to come. Server never asked us if everything was ok or if we needed anything. Never asked if we wanted dessert or coffee, etc. We wanted another drink but after waiting for so long, we just wanted to leave. Server dropped off check only after we flagged her down for it. But never came back to collect it. We eventually had to go to the bar to pay. We have been going to Village Tavern for 15 years. Even though the people have started to return to the restaurant since Covid, the restaurant is definitely not prepared to serve us.
Whoever made the shrimp tacos, my goodness! They were delicious. My date and I also ordered a flatbread and it was very well cooked. There is not much on it but it was not over greasy. I really enjoyed the crab cakes. The fries they came with were alright, but I appreciated they were not too salty. Coleslaw was passable. Thing is, these tacos made up for all of that. As did the appetizer. Clean atmosphere and nice workers. Looking forward to returning to try the dessert!
I have always loved this restaurant, but it’s a little far from where we live. It was my birthday, and I decided the Village Tavern was my restaurant of choice. We had a reservation, and were seated right away in a booth by the fireplace. Our server was Tamara, and was excellent both in personality and service. I had Prime Rib…my husband had the Butcher Steak…the entrees and salads were yummy. Thank you Village Tavern, everything was outstanding.
