Do not order the beef tacos. You get like a teaspoon of meat 90% cheese and mine were cold because of the cheese. The brown salsa is hotter than I prefer but that's how they make it.The steak fajitas my friend got were fantastic he loved them! I tried a bowl of the chicken tortilla soup it was great! It took forever to get food after even waiting an hour to be seated. They have Coke with the waitresses are super friendly it's a little while to get a refill but they were busy. Go try the soup and fajitas just don't get the tacos.
Our waitress was horrible!!! We waited 20 minutes to get a hello and then she disappeared for 20 minutes. She had an attitude with us and then spilled water all over us. Never apologized and continued to disappear and not service us. I will NEVER frequent this restaurant again!! And never recommend it either!! Horrible! Horrible. Horrible!!! Food was average at best.
I really do not understand the hype of this restaurant. it was much better when it was El Felix. We decided to try it. The take out option was first of all very long. We also asked for corn tortillas for my tacos, and they said no problem and we received flour tortillas for both orders. This was really weird, who does flour tortillas on tacos. Enchiladas and Burritos yes, but tacos? Then they hardly gave us enough lettuce, tomato, and cheese for one taco.. Then the tortillas chips were not even good. They had this powdery substance all over them. It was like you were eating flour for what was supposed to be corn tortillas. The only reason I gave this a 2 star was because the meat and salsa had a really good smokey flavor. For the price you are better off going to one of the local Mexican restaurants nearby. We will not be going there again.
Great! Best option price , clean room , amenities real good , the casino it’s awesome! Friendly staff. The menu on the cafeteria it’s good and the prices ok . The front desk staff it’s great . The pool it’s ok
Good food, nice atmosphere and great margaritas. Disappointed that burritos aren't served anymore.
Excellent food and service - pricey for what we got.I’m not sure how you spend $140 in tacos for 4 people but that’s what we did tonight. Other than the price it was an excellent experience. We hung out until they re-opened at 5:00 and got seated and greeted right away. Our server was very attentive and we wanted for nothing throughout the entire meal.Everything was very tasty and everyone at the table cleaned their plates. I had the fluffy taco platter and it was excellent. It’s a little cross between an appetizer and a taco with fresh ingredients and excellent seasoning. My wife had the steak carbonara tacos - they were tender and tasty.
Hands down my favorite restaurant in the area! The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because it is never open anymore! The last three times we have tried to go, we arrived and it was closed even though the website had its normal hours listed. I know covid hit the restaurant industry/workforce hard but all the other Avalon restaurants are open when we have to disappointedly dine elsewhere when we are in the mood for Superica but it’s closed!
My kids treated me to Superica for my birthday, and Happy it was. The pork belly tacos were incredible, that along with the family style rice and beans, I walked away greatly satisfied with a wise dining choice. The trece leche cake was to die for.
Last night we enjoyed a fantastic evening at Superica at Avalon! First our server Loren was awesome! She was friendly but professional at the same time and all her suggestions were spot on. For food we enjoyed the Snapper, Ribeye, Chicken Tacos, and much more! The management at all Ford Fry restaurants is exceptional but this one is one of the best! Keep up the great work!
As far as I’m concerned, the word “Superica” is synonymous with “excellence”. My wife and I have been to this location at the Avalon countless times and have never had a bad meal here. They have four locations at the Avalon in Alpharetta, The Battery ATL in Cumberland, Buckhead, and Krog Street in downtown.I am a lifetime resident of metro ATL and the food is by far the best Mexican cuisine in the area, and it’s not even close. I am on a lifetime search for a better Mexican joint anywhere and I’m still looking!A few hacks and recommendation from a Superica regular: 1) BEAT THE LINE - they do not take reservations but you can typically go to their website and signup for the waitlist online. 2) You MUST order the queso and ask for fresh flour tortillas (yes, roll them up and dip them in buddy). 3) Green + red salsa - pour in the same bowl - enjoy! 4) Fajitas are my go-to (highly recommend the steak) and more than enough for one person. Easily feeds 2, with enough to take home for an extra lunch or two (ask for flour tortillas to-go!) 5) WRITE A LOVE NOTE, GET A QUESO - they typically give you a postcard with your check. Write a note on that bad boy and address it to yourself or someone at your residence. Odds are you will eventually get that postcard stamped by the staff with a FREE QUESO. 6) they have BRUNCH - I have never been but hear it’s amazing! You and your taste buds can’t go wrong with Superica! I look forward to trying more of Ford Fry’s establishments in the near future!
