The last 2 times we ate at Shogun we noticed that their Hibachi portions have been drastically cut down. At our last visit I ordered the vegetable hibachi. My vegetables consisted of approximately ½ of a cut up onion, 4 small pieces of zucchini, 1 slice off of a mushroom and 4 small pieces of broccoli. My guess is that they may be cutting back on portion sizes instead or raising prices due to inflation. But, if you do not serve people a decent portion for the price you are charging, they will not want to eat at your restaurant. It always seems so expensive to eat at Shogun and now you are not getting very much for your hard earned money. I wish there were better options in the area.

Amazing sushi, love the teriyaki chicken hibachi, the spring rolls are so good. My favorite thing was the gyoza. Also had the spicy sesame chicken rolls and they were alright, the chicken was on top and very spicy. Usually I can tolerate heat but it was very spicy. Although, don’t let that deter you to trying it. If you can handle spice then try it, you won’t be disappointed. Now the roll for the spicy sesame chicken is very mushy and has some sort of imitation crab in the middle which took me by surprise because I despise imitation crab. So I just ate the chicken and gave my bf the sushi rolls. It is VERY expensive here. I paid $80 for two people. Seating inside, but is very cramped. I’m sure the experience is nice, but I’d rather pick up and take my food home than sit elbow to elbow with other costumers.

Not too much to say, fish was fresh. I believe the restaurant was well and all of the service was good. They know how to serve up nigiri and sashimi right.Quick on and quick out under 20 as it should be.

The sushi was great. Chef's know what they're doing with that. Hibachi was horrible. Steak was thinking and flavorless, shrimp was definitely frozen and contained very little flavor, fried rice was sushi rice with soy sauce and an egg (definitely had better), noodles was spaghetti with teriyaki sauce and only 2 to 3 forkfuls on the plate, water was tap and unfiltered so it tasted funky. Service was good though. Waitress was kind and attentive. If you want a good Shogun, go to Columbus or metro Atlanta. This one is sad. Unless of course you're going in for the sushi.

We were seated quickly. However I was searching for a place called Hibachi. Instead we tried Shogun. Our food was cold when it came to the table. I addressed the waitresses about the issues She stated it should be hot .I explained to her there wasn't steam coming from the dinner plate . She she walked away and had no solutions. I didn't eat the food and 30 minutes later when I was able to get her Attention. I asked for a manager if she claimed there was no one there that I could talk to. I stayed what if I was refusing to pay .She stated I could talk to an older lady .the lady stated she will take 10% off the bill.. also via their policy A virgin daiquiri is the same price as one with alcohol. Which we were not informed until after we received our biIl.I was very UN happy

Traveling for work and joined a bestie for dinner. Cute space and quick popular after 600pm - service was great. Our server recommended sushi rolls and they were awesome! We ordered seaweed salad, sushi taco, and the American Roll & Verizon Roll.

Albany is fortunate to have such experienced sashimi and sushi chefs and the tempura is great ? Terrific service, food and atmosphere

My son and I visited the restaurant yesterday and the customer service was awful. They seem to cater to a certain group of people. The tables are not at social distance intervals and they had one area blocked off that they did not want to use. The waitress got upset when one family sit in the area. I believe they were trying to keep all customers in one area to make it easy on them. But this is a no, no during this pandemic time and the restaurant is so small and should use all available space with social distancing. I ordered an alcoholic beverage but apparently they left the alcohol out. The food was good and we finally received it an hour after sitting. I had to remind the waitress who didn't bother to even check on us. P.S. I left a nice monetary tip just like my Pastor preached us to do.

A great restaurant! Very kind and attentive waitress, clean and comfortable environment despite the small size, and the food was fresh and packed with flavor. Definitely recommend and a pleasant surprise so far from the coast! Only thing I would wish for is that they stock up on Temari (gluten free soy sauce) but there are good options even without it.

The hibachi lunch menu offers your basics & combos & all come with soup or salad, noodles & fried or steamed rice. My mother & son both got chicken & I had the scallop/chicken combo. They liked the chicken better than I did. The scallops had a pretty sear on the outside & had a good taste but were slightly undercooked. Not sure what the sauce on the noodles was but we didn't like that at all. The soup tasted as plain as simple broth can be. Blah. The salad with ginger dressing was pretty good. We all agreed that the rice was the best thing on the plate. I've never eaten their sushi so I can't speak to that but, as for their hibachi items, you can get much better food elsewhere. Also, the other Japanese restaurant in town that's also opened for lunch give much bigger portions for nearly the same price.
