We came for breakfast and it was a long visit. Food wasnt great, mine was a little too seared and the place needs to be cleaned, like walls and everything. The art on the wall beside our table had food splatter on it. Really put me off. It seemed they were short staffed, the service was really friendly and were doing their best with the crowd that they had. I will rarely blame restaurant staff unless they're blatantly rude. The food world is a tough place so keep that in mind when you go.
I had a bad experience. 1st of all the table was not clean and when the And the waiter came over to clean it they the Queen dove stuff onto my pants pants. Also the food tip took a long time to prepare. They gave me the wrong item. IEI asked for sausage and they gave me bacon . Your brother's small things. Like when the waitress brought me my change. She Kept the coins and gave me only the dollar bills. So that was her tip 68 cents . Sorry for the poor review but that's the way it goes
UPDATE: Every time we have tried since this first time there has been a lack of employees and closed early. Not going back :-(They stayed open and fed us after they were going to close. It was hot and fresh and delicious!!! And they never made us feel rushed. We will definitely be returning!!!

I'm sure this specific IHOP is understaffed because I just waited twenty-five minutes to be seated and then thirty-five minutes without receiving or hearing back from my waiter. I do know the receptionist (I don't recall her name but she was an African American woman with red highlighted braids) at the front let one group behind us be seated first. My party ordered cheesecake pancakes, chicken fajita, and a pancake combo. I can't even give this establishment anything above 2 stars because I didn't even have any food, all I know is it's understaffed.
We had a 35 minute wait even though less than half of the restaurant was full. Two people that came in AFTER us was seated before us and it was only after I pointed it out to the staff that we were seated. Our order was taken and almost 45 minutes passed without our food being served. We got up and left. I definitely will not be coming back. Slow service and poor customer service. It needs to be shut down!!!
Thought we'd show up in the slow period between breakfast & lunch. Seems like all of Albany had the same idea. The place was way busier than I thought it would be. Food was good & came out really fast. We sat down, ordered, & ate in 25 minutes. The one negative to the visit was that we then had to wait 15 minutes for a to go box & get the bill taken care of. Asked for a box when the waitress brought the bill. Since she didn't bring it when she came back to pick up my card, we asked again. When she brought my card back, she still didn't have the box. She left to get it & came to the dining room empty handed & went right to another table. Finally able to flag her down & ask her again. She went & got it then. I worked in the service industry for years so I know how it can be when it's busy, but you still can't be that forgetful when serving.
The food was not good at all, and it took so long for them to bring it out. The waitress we had was very unfriendly she was young but no accuse. I want go here again. Maybe some people have had a more pleasant experience than I did.
I'm a fan of IHOP but this one in particular felt a little off. So I went with my family during the morning and they weren't dining in but there were people dining in. I wasn't upset or anything but I felt like I was owed an explanation considering everyone that was dining in wasn't of color. Could have just been a coincidence though. ?
It took longer than 45 minutes to be seated and the waitress seem to have a bad attitude. Not only did we wait our order was wrong and I had to ask the waitress for a refill after she literally walked by our table more than 3times. The food tasted horrible the eggs were not cooked fully one child asked for a fried hard egg and it was literally runny before she stabbed the fork in the silverware was dirty my 6 year old received her food on a broken/chipped plate and our waitress was rude. Never again will we be back. Cracker Barrel will be our go to. At least their wait is never disappointing.
