This review is in regards to the extremely unpleasant rude manager Rachel who works at the Hillstone location in Winter Park. This is unfortunately the third time we let this women bully and discriminate against us. We are regulars because we enjoy your food but Rachel has been the worst person I have ever encountered in any restaurant. The first time we ever had an issue with her was when my son was a baby. I was eating with my son, daughter, and husband. My husband was wearing a baseball cap, as were many others in the restaurant. She instantly came over and told my husband to take his cap off. He took it off then noticed how many other still had their caps on so he put it back on. She then came back to harass us instantly demand him to remove his hat or we had to leave. He got extremely upset and we had already ordered our food and just got up and left. Her goal was accomplished to get us out of that restaurant. On the way out she waved at us with a nasty smirk on her face and said goodbye with a wave and humiliating like she was superior. Second encounter with this woman was was when my mother was eating with my father FaceTiming me and within 5 second she comes over and demands that she cannot be on FaceTime. Today will mark the third issue with this woman which brings me to the end of my rope. We came for lunch with my mother, myself and my son. I could tell this woman already knows who I am because she was eyeing us from the minute we walked through the door. Our food and drinks were ordered and then my son hit his lip on the table. Believe me when I say my son started crying and within 2 seconds she’s walking over and has to audacity to say “ Hello I am Rachel the manager here. Is there anything we can do to keep him QUIET?” I looked at her in shock not believing what I was hearing. Imagine going up to a child who is autistic? Or had a disability? This is extremely offending and cruel. She is a disgrace to the Hillstone corporation. She has extreme hatred for children and is a racist against Hispanics. There is no way possible to be a regular in a restaurant and have so many issues with one person. You would think we would get greeted with a smile as regulars do at every restaurant. We will no longer come to Hillstone as long as Rachel is working here.
My wife and I have been com8ng here for 20 years, and every time it seems there are new rules in place. The service at the bar has really gone downhill, which was reflected in the empty seats. Typically it’s tough to get a bar spot to eat or drink but not this night. Bartender took our food order and 20 minutes later I asked if our salads were coming, we then watched go to the POS and punch in the order. Then she went to the other bartender and was complaining about us. Very unprofessional and not a manager insight. Hillstone rule “not splitting entrees”. They just bring a plate and say you have to split it yourself. Nice policy! What is this A Chilis or something. Not sure what is going on but over the past 4 years they have managed to take the restaurant with the best location and view and turn it into a churn and burn Outback circa 1994. What a shame

Don’t bother going. Took forever to get waited on. Waitress was slammed but no one seemed to notice even though they work on “teams”. Food was average and nothing stood out. Once waitress got on track seemed like she wanted us out.
Hill stone has been our favorite restaurant in Winter park for over 15 years, many great memories. Now we cannot enjoy the restaurant with more than 5 people. Thats crazy. Hill stone has let their success get the better part of themselves. As a resident of winter park I am sorry to say it will be a long time before we come back. And I will be sure to tell my friends of our experience this evening. There are many great restaurants in winter park, hill stone is now off my list. Cc. Orlando sentinel
This place has gone downhill.Hillstone used to be a staple in our celebratory evenings: birthdays, anniversaries, random special date nights, etc. It definitely will not be anymore.Prices have gone up, portions have decreased, and the service has significantly declined. They’ve also removed several of our favorite menu items.I have included images of the same menu item from 2021 to 2022. The vegetable plate used to come with 5 sides for $18, now it’s 3 sides for $20.However, I will say that the food is still delicious and the location is beautiful.
This is one of our most favorite restaurants! We've been numerous times and have never been disappointed. The service and food are exceptional. It sits on a beautiful lake and there's not a bad view from any table. Before or after your meal you can grab a drink and sit outside in one of the may relaxing settings and enjoying the lake breeze and view.
This has been a favorite of mine for 20-plus years. The last couple of times have just not been up to par. This weekend, my bestie and I went for lunch. We were told a table would be ready in 45 minutes so we went outside and ordered mimosas and apps. How can you mess up a mimosa? It’s literally 2 ingredients. They came out with a clump of pulp at the bottom of the glass with no juice in the rest of the drink. It was gross. Then, we got a text that our table was ready after 15 minutes. The server was brining out out our apps but said she would bring to table. After another 10 minutes, we were seated and apps were nowhere in sight. We asked for more oj for mimosas, but after another 15 minutes no oj. At this point the drinks were warm and flat so we asked to substitute a sparkling rose’. Fast forward another 20 minutes and no drinks. The fresh fries were way undercooked, white and soggy. The servers are robotic and condescending . For $175 lunch, it just does not seem worth it anymore. Sad to see the decline of a once great place.
One of the most consistent restaurants in Orlando. Same menu for 40 years. A few specials but same menu. Never disappoints. Food extremely good. Cooked to perfection. Staff is very well trained. No one misses a beat. Always a vibe at this place. Beautiful sunsets around 7:45 - 8:05 DST.
