Being Floridian I, of course, have always been surrounded by Latin food culture, but never have I experienced a Latin ice cream parlor and this spot did not disappoint!! As a foodie and all-things-sweets lover?? ?♥️, I will say Carmen's is TOP NOTCH for a mom & pop ice cream shop!I stumbled on Carmen's while visiting from out of the area and all I can say is....I am now looking for a shop like Carmen's in my own area.The shop owner/counter server was very friendly, patient, and allowed me to try multiple flavors that were new to me. Her hospitable and welcoming attitude was very much appreciated as I was just so overwhelmed and excited by all of the flavors I had never seen before....sweet corn, mamey, star fruit, lime, passion fruit, etc. While I have had some of these tropical foods before, others I did not, and certainly not in ice cream form.I ended up getting the Mangonada. Traditionally they make it with the mango ice cream, but I switched it up with starfruit and coconut ice creams with the mango fruit on top. Where else do you get FRESH mango on your ice cream?!It's a day after and my mind is still WOWed. I would be tempted to drive out of my way just to stop at Carmen's again. The only disappointment I have is that I was not able to try other flavors and the decadent popsicles that just look amazing!!!
Try the corn on the cob ice cream, it’s surprisingly delicious!
Good place, when open. Really good popsicles and is a really cute shop. It is such a shame that they have very limited hours. I definitely try to come by whenever they're open, I just have the worst luck with movies getting done at 8:30 or 9PM.
I tried the coconut ice with chocolate, it was delectable!!! I am definitely going back and trying more flavors!!! The atmosphere was very friendly and relaxed. I really, really enjoyed this place!!!
Very very clean?And all milkshakes are made with ice cream. It was quite delicioso! They had so many flavors to choose from?
