I happened upon this French cafe and I’m so happy that I did. I’m still here and posting a review right now so that I don’t forget! The quiche Lorraine with side salad was delish!! It’s a big portion and so tasty and fresh! The latte was yummy as well. It’s not a cozy little cafe but you still feel welcome to take up a table with a computer and notebook. I’d definitely come back!
One of my colleges who is a salesman with Toll Brothers, visited this restaurant about 2 months ago and ordered take out. At that time the owner was there and in addition to purchasing of lunch, the owner gave my college a free dessert. The lunch and dessert were delicious. At another time I ordered take out food which was a vegetable omelet. It was delicious- loaded with mushrooms and veggies.Next visit was for take out lunch for 3 with the Toll Brothers sales team. All three of us were extremely disappointed. I ordered a veg. crepe with smoked salmon. It was terrible. It had a few chopped green pepper, 2 mushroom slices, no cheese and no salmon. My colleges threw their lunch out. One had a chicken salad sandwich- on a croissant. The croissant was hard. This was on a Friday afternoon, I tried calling the restaurant but they were already closed ( they close at 3pm) so I called them the following Monday.I do not normally call to complain or get a "free meal". However when I pay a substantial amount for food ( as I did since we ordered 3 meals) I expect to be provided fresh, good tasting food and what I ordered. Now one of my colleges knew the owner, through business, but the owner does not frequent that location.I spent over an hour trying to get a refund for 3 trashed meals. The owners wife was even contacted by one of the employees who was desperately trying to help me in this matter. The owners wife also gave me the run around and did not approve the refund. The manager was also out. After an hour of phone and face to face discussions I told them to just remake what I had originally purchased. My lunch lunch this time was ok. The others were disappointed. The quality of the food has declined since opening in this new location.Sandwiches and egg omelets are pricey so one would expect them to be outstanding, but unfortunately were anything but. Also the name of this restaurant is very deceiving- there is nothing French about the food or decor as the Name - The French Cafe' leads you to believe. We do not plan to return. I find it unfortunate that a restaurant declines in quality several months after opening.
I own a business and I always read reviews to see how we can improve so I hope this will happen here because I love this place! This place has some amazing food and the coffee is so smooth and delicious I drink it black! However since the last manager left a few months ago things have changed in regards to customer service. First the tall Brunette is not very happy at her job and rarely smiles. Second I am paying a tip that is the same as a sit down restaurant but the table service is nothing after the food is first brought out. I never have anybody come back and check on me and I always have to go up to the counter for a refill of coffee. Other than that this place is great!!
Just left the French Café in Hamlin and had the worst experience. Ordered Crème Brule and Croissant. The Crème Brule came after I finished my Croissant and only after I asked for it again and it tasted like syrup. I ordered brown sugar and white was added to it, when they caught the mistake the rep proceeded to add brown sugar on top of the white sugar. He was nice but had no mask on and was talking all over my beverage. I will never go back to this place. No I'm not bougie, but in the times we live in, more care should be taken with our foods especially if you're still open and provide this service.
Unfortunately, I cannot review the quality of the food or drink, since I was served. I stood at the counter (no one else in line) for five minutes while employees walked in and out of the back kitchen and the barista kept her back turned to me the entire time. At least four employees saw me waiting. Not sure what the deal was, but poor service experience. I cannot recommend.
Really like this place and would recommend a visit.
Was staying at Orange County National Golf club for a few days. This is right up the road (about a 5 minute drive) and is a great way to start the day. Friendly and smiling team....nice breakfasts (had the crepes and omelettes). Indoor and outdoor seating.
Great location great food great coffee etc.
What a cute little coffee shop. Came in here horrendously hungover after an absolute banger at Cowboys the night before and BOY did that breakfast sandwich hit the spot. Highly recommended to anyone looking for a nice light brunch meal or somewhere quiet to do some work. Oh, and the baristas are literally the sweetest humans ever
Excellent service, amazing food. Highly recommended.
