Good all American food… ‘50s diner vibe. We had a chicken sandwich and onion rings and a Turkey platter. Refillable lemonade and ice tea… that was welcome as it was a pretty warm day. ?
I came for lunch. Many salad choices. I ordered the one with blackened chicken. Lots of ingredients. A variety of tastes and texture. Reasonably priced. Nice water view
Today my friend and I tried the California chicken wrap as the special. We loved it. Our server was excellent he was very attentive and courteous making sure we had everything we needed. The restaurant is diner-esque but very clean and welcoming as soon as you walk in the staff say hello and are very friendly and approachable. The manager came to our table and asked how everything was and was very nice. Very cute place with friendly atmosphere and good food. Will be coming back soon
We loved the view on the canal, the food was tasty and the menu was large. Great kids menu with ice cream dessert options, which was a plus for us. The only con was that it took about an hour to get food. We were a part pay of 6 at lunchtime on a Friday. Our kids became pretty restless.
Nice collection of old photographs and the chicken pot pie was pretty good but the roasted chicken was Very dry and appeared to be twice cooked. It was nice of a woman, perhaps the owner, to come by the tables and ask how everything was but it felt uncomfortable to complain. I would suggest that next time she specifically asks how is your ______? Perhaps people would be more inclined to be honest. The waitress had a very defensive attitude and was not easily found, which may the experience a bit unpleasant.
Good comfort food, good service, ask for outdoor dining, quiet and no wait.
So I believe you lovers of Lucille’s and just had a wonderful meal there thanks to other Trip Adviser reviews! The service was excellent (Jacques) and the setting on the water was absolutely lovely. The big hit was the food tho! My husband had the Mahi-mahi sandwich and I had a blackened shrimp salad. Both were outstanding and the manager even dropped by to see how we liked things and was very pleased we were enjoying our visit. Be sure to drop by....I plan on returning for sure!
First time in Lucille’s Cafe, the food is good and fast service. We are going to back to try the menu
When I saw Macadamia Crusted French Toast described as, "Sweet macadamia crust on thick brioche topped with Florida orange glaze", I looked no further because it sounded so wonderful. Admittedly, I am a tough marker, however, typically, French toast needs to be soaked long enough that the inside of the bread has absorbed the egg mixture. The bread was dry in the middle. The 'macadamia crust' was some macadamia nuts mixed with crushed cereal and the 'Florida orange glaze' was clearly marmalade from a jar. Misleading meal descriptions are something I just can't abide. Don't treat your guests like they are stupid and know nothing about food or think they won't notice the difference between store bought marmalade and an orange glaze. When you ask the server, 'what type of hot tea do you have' and the answer is, 'I don't know, it's in a yellow package', that should have been our first clue this wasn't going to be a great experience. My husband ordered simple scrambled eggs, bacon and home fries with rye toast. 'Crispy bacon' means rock hard, home fries are frozen and the toast is 'buttered' with something that resembles butter but is another money saving tool similar to buying a jar of marmalade instead of making an orange glaze. Again, I'm a tough marker but I'm no Chef Ramsey. I can only imagine what he would have to say about Lucille's.
My friends and I were on a trip this past weekend! We decided to have brunch at Lucille‘s. Our waitress Susan(I believe her name was) was the best! She was very friendly, got our orders correct and checked in with us to make sure everything was ok. Omg the food was amazing. I had the chicken and waffles, words can’t describe how delicious they were. Im not sure what they put in the waffles but you can literally eat them without syrup. The mimosas were made to perfection. We’ll definitely be going back whenever we visit the Westin area.
