Waited 30 minutes to get in... no big deal for a busy restaurant on a Saturday. Then waited 40 minutes for food. They said they got backed up with take out orders. Unacceptable. The pastrami was overcooked and dry. The blackened swai was very good.
My go to place to eat. Never had a bad experience either for me or fellow diners. My one negative is Pete's is not open in the evening or Mondays. Food is great. Portions are big. Servers are always top shelf, Try Pete's once and you will see what I mean. As far as some reviews complaining about the wait. Gee I wonder why!!!!
We were looking for a local place to have breakfast while passing through West Palm Beach, we happened to stop there on Father's Day. Even after getting there about 30 minutes after they opened we found ourselves waiting about 30 minutes to be seated. We split a farmer's omelet and grilled blue berry muffin. Portions are huge, we both left a little food on our plates. Service was good. We'd go back if we're in the area.
Large portions, they use REAL eggs and lots of options on the menu! I love the vibe- staff is friendly, attentive, I can eat here alone and feel comfortable. I live 2 minutes away and I see there are a lot of neighbors that come in to eat here. Haven’t tried the lunch items but the breakfast really fills you up.
My family and I ordered from here on Father's day and the food was good. We go to the same breakfast restaurants and it was nice to try somewhere different. Would definitely order again they didn't get 5 stars because they forget items in our order but food was good.
We did takeout or I would have sent my "Cuban sandwich" back. While it was tasty, it certainly wasn't a Cuban sandwich. I don't know what kind of bread that was but it wasn't Cuban and was so thick, my jaw still hurts a day later. I couldn't deconstruct it because it wouldn't be a sandwich. Generous portion but misleading name.
I came here for an early breakfast on a weekday. Not busy yet. Outside seating available. I ordered the turkey omelet and potatoes and toast. Plenty of food. Reasonably priced. Good service.
You may scratch your head and wonder why I gave this a five-star after reading my review. That is because I don't think it was the fault of the restaurant but let me explain. I have been to the Pete's Place in the South many times and always have enjoyed it so this particular establishment was a new experience. Is quaint and cozy and good old-fashioned service. I ordered something to go because I noticed it was the other closing hours and I didn't want to hold up anyone, after all they've worked a long day. I ordered a gyro which is something I've never ordered before and I think my mistake oh, and I think it was my mistake was ordering this particular sandwich to go because it did not travel well. I would encourage anybody to go to pizza place I would discourage anyone to order a to-go order unless you're eating it immediately but I had a way to travel and I didn't hold up.
I have placed take out orders from this location a few times and every time we have an issue with the older lady that works in the front. Whether she’s giving us extra food or not giving us what we ordered but the biggest issue we have is she’s snappy and lazy. Every time we asked for our order she says “it’s not ready” so we politely wait 10 to 20 minutes. The we ask how much longer. To find out the bag that’s been seating on the counter was ours the whole time. Well she’s busy gossiping with everyone around her our food is getting soggy and cold. Would not recommend ordering takeout. We would not being going back.
Normally we enjoy our experience here. But today, first watching some guy cleaning? The tables. Used a wet cloth wiped the crumbs off onto the chairs and floor, wiped the chairs with the same cloth and proceeded to use the same cloth to clean other tables. My food was not as good as good as usual, French fries weren’t cooked and when we told the waitress, which really isn’t her fault except she didn’t check back to see if everything was ok, she asked if I wanted something else but we were done with our other food. Didn’t ‘t want anything at that point. Think we will stay away for awhile. NOT CLEANING the tables probably is what bothered us.
