The bagels are great. However, a Ruben does NOT have coleslaw. That is a Rachel. A Ruben is made with Suerkraut. Some sandwiches are good and some are just best to forget.
Great bagels. As good as any bagel in NY. Big and bold with their seasonings. I had the everything bagel and it was puffy and hearty with a great crunchy crust. They are generous with the cream cheese.I have also had the Bacon Egg and cheese which is also very, very good. great location and they have a parking lot as well. Fountain drinks and iced tea on tap. Service was quick and courteous.
Freshly made bagels. Great location. Coffee & breakfast was good.
The only reason I've ever gone back is I'm a guest of someone who loves the place (why?), I'm with someone that thinks their order will be easy, hard to F up, or it's been 10 years so I give them another chance. That being said, I have NEVER been there for ANYTHING and had it all go ...as expected. I'm not looking for 3 Michelin star restaurant, but something is consistently wrong everytime. A typical challenge order: regular coffee, plain bagel, cut in half, not toasted, plain cream cheese on the side.Things that can go wrong, and do:45 minute wait (no one else in line, ordering or picking up, then they just don't call your order as ready, it sits while you sit... waiting for them to see you and ask you 'If you would like to place an order?' duh.)They'll forget something, like the coffee, bagel, or cream cheese. They'll cut the bagel down the middle like 2 "c"'s instead of like a sandwich bun. Truth. They'll give your order to someone else, who leaves with it in a bag. Then (see the '45 minute' comment above.)They'll toast the bagel, ...then put the cream cheese on it.They'll bag your to go order, maybe fold the bag over three times, maybe staple it, maybe say something like reading the order receipt listing contents of bag, then 'Here you are, all set, have a nice day'. No napkins, cutlery, salt, butter etc. Nothing else, but implying your order is 'ready to go'.May God help you if your order is more ... complicated and/or for more than 1 person, and to go. You're fckd.Every time, I say never again. Not even for a can of soda.0 stars.
Very clean establishment, bagels were fresh and delightful. Staff knows everything about professionalism and kindness. I will be back to try them again, thanks guys.
This place 5/6 years ago used to be the morning spot for delicious bagels and great sandwiches. The prices have no skyrocketed, the staff consistently forgets my order and forgets things on my sandwich, and it’s filthy. It’s a real shame that it’s gone completely downhill.
Was one of my favorite spots for lunch within walking distance from work but .....The person at the register was extremely rude when asking a simple question about a menu item and when I called her out on her attitude she responded with "ok".Bye Makeb's, there are plenty of other great restaurants in the area that actually appreciate my business.
great food, great serving sizes, fresh bread, awesome Roast Beef!love the omelettes and breakfast sandwiches!so glad i found this place!
Coffee was a disgrace. Completely undrinkable. Ordered 2 latte and a bagel. The bagel was 3 days old but I only took a couple sips of the latte. It curled my stomach and left my mouth like I just drank creosote. This place shouldn't be in business.
I regret every time I think “hey maybe this time they’ll get my order correct…. “. And so I give them another try. Every time I say “No Cheese Please… make sure it doesn’t have cheese…. No really you guys always put cheese on it”. Today, for the last time, I ordered just like that. And just like that I get her order back dripping in cheese. Then when I go to counter to correct it, it’s like a giant hassle. Like it’s the customers fault that they cannot get a simple “no cheese” order correct. I must end this abusive relationship
