Great food and intimate setting.
They were always nice to my grandmother and treated her like their family. Food went up and down a bit in quality.
Love this place my fist time and food was delicious will recommend to friends and family
HIDDEN GEM! - heard good things about Maison Carlos from friends, so thought we should give it a try… So glad we did! Food was excellent and clearly draws a very loyal and local crowd, but the lack of kerbside appeal means it wasn’t packed on. Saturday night. The restaurant is cute inside, attentive staff and a very reasonably priced wine list plays second fiddle to really well executed food. Everything was beautifully cooked, clearly all prepared in house. There are things they could do to elevate the experience however, for example not having windex and cleaning products on the bar! I remain confused as to if this is an Italian or French restaurant, but despite these minor comments will 100% return… don’t forget to try the freshly prepped complimentary plantain chips too!
This is not a French restaurant. (Look at the menu online.) There is no chance any French people are in the kitchen. But, beyond that it isn’t good food.1. Escargot: They are served in a bowl of broth that is made from beef stock and A1 sauce. No garlic, no butter, no white wine, no ceramic dish with pockets for snails..ridiculous.Escargot are really easy to make right.2. Special of the Day - Veal Sauce à Pizza: Not joking or exaggerating. I asked about the sauce and he said, you know…pizza sauce. Needless to say I didn’t order it.3. Veal Scaloppine: Overcooked, no seasoning or salt, hardly any sauce and bland..4. Crispy Duck: Overcooked beyond what you can imagine..Think super dry, tough turkey breast. Oddly not really crispy. And worst of all, almost no sauce and what was there was watery, weak and nearly tasteless.5. Key Lime Pie: Decent tart flavor but topped with merengue. Also, no dessert menu.6. The Place: Not nice inside. Think Elks Club.7. The Menu: So this “French” restaurant has a whole pizza section. The 3 pasta choices include Pasta Bolognese. I would say more Italian choices than anything.8. Burger: It was good! Bun was a bit burnt and the bun was the same roll served with dinner but it was tasty.9. Roll: I really liked it. They clearly didn’t make it. Butter was great too.10. Wine by the Glass: Selection is small and not good and for $12 a glass you could have something decent. Frontera Merlot is sold for $6.96 a 1.5 liter at Total Wine. It’s from Chile. There wasn’t a French wine by the glass on the menu. Please only go if you want a good, overpriced burger and make them retoast the bun if it’s burnt.
Save your money and go to an actual French restaurant. The food was not good. Food coming out of the kitchen was slow. The best part was the free fried zucchini chips.
We had a wonderful business dinner. The staff was attentive in a real professional and subtle way. Everyone loved the food and the entire evening was a success. We'll be back for sure.
