Waitress was horribly rude. We weren’t offered a single thing - had to ask her to take our drink order and dim sum order of 2 items after 15 minutes of waiting with barely anyone else in the place. Wrong food came to the table, and after my mom let her know it was incorrect, she dismissively said “no, you ordered that” and then walked past to keep helping others. After getting her attention again and insisting we did not, she says “yes you did, here I’ll show you” and goes to grab our dim sum order. Lo and behold - we hadn’t ordered what came to the table, and then the waitress was like “ohhhh I see.”As a former chef of many years myself, I know that working in a restaurant is stressful and that customers are dumb sometimes. That being said - if you’re going to take on the rude dismissive attitude with your customers, you better make dang sure that you’re the one in the right in that situation. We know what we circled on the paper and don’t appreciate being treated like idiots for wanting the correct order.I gave you 2 stars instead of 1 because the pork dumplings were pretty good.
The selection very authentic and tasted great. Wish I had a bigger stomach to to eat and order more. I did realize the my sugar went up. Very authentic and clean
Some of the best dim sum in Chinatown. If you're looking for an authentic experience, this is it.The restaurant was clean, the staff were attentive, and the food was amazing. I highly recommend the pork buns. They also served a perfectly steeped pot of tea.The dining experience is very well done.
Having moved back to US after more than 20 years working in various countries in east Asia, I was amazed to find such an authentic Chinese restaurant in Palm Beach. However, the restaurant does also have the standard American/Chinese food (sweet and sour, wanton soup, etc.) that other guests seem to truly enjoy. We eat at this restaurant at least once a week for lunch or dinner when we are in Palm Beach.
This used to be my go to for Chinese. But they have gone to lunch size portions for dinner take out, I had just a few pieces of chicken in the chicken chow main. I mean I had to search for those pieces and I had two orders of the same item with the same problem. The egg rolls that I would rave about no longer deserve that rave. Such a shame. The wanton soup was extremely salty. Another favorite down the drain. No dinnerware or packets of soy sauce or anything in the bag. I hope they make some positive changes. Maybe I should have known since no one was in the dining area.
We went there for a late lunch and were very disappointed with the food. The egg drop soup was ok but too thick, the broccoli on the beef with broccoli was so hard it was inedible, the shrimp with vegetables was just horrible, the sauce was thick and had lumps of a gelatinous substance, had no flavor whatsoever and all the vegetables seemed like they came from a can. Very bad expereince. Will not be going back.
We ordered the chicken chow Mein with Fried Rice and wonton soup. The soup was like a tea bag was tip and removed immediately. No taste whatsoever. The chicken chow-mein was flat, tasteless. This was a great place before the pandemic, but we won't be back now. My neighbor said it was sold when the city was shut down. If so, the new owners need to improve.
Food was good overall. Steamed pork buns were good. Saw a server that worked there from the previous owners. Great to see a familiar face.
I was under the impression that there aren’t many places that serve dim sum here in WPB so I was surprised to learn about this place. If you’re craving quick dim sum, you can come here. The prices seem fair. The pork buns and shu mai were good. We also ordered Singapore noodles but it was more on the salty side and tasted like it had too much pepper.
After our favorite place closed, I tried a number of places until I found Grand Lake. My wife and I have ordered takeout at least 6 times and eaten in once. Food is consistently good, a little pricey, but we'll worth it. We love their cold noodles in sesame sauce, excellent! If you're originally from the NE, you should give this Chinese restaurant a try.
