Fantastic restaurant. Great atmosphere. Authentic Cuban food. Tastes great. The drinks are good too. Just bring a light sweater. A/C vents blow down on the tables and is on high so you will get cold. Apparently they cannot control individual sections of the restaurant. Everything is on one control. Otherwise worth the trip.
I ordered the palomilla steak and it was so dry I couldn’t finish it. We had to keep calling the server over because she wouldn’t come refill our drinks. Service was poor the way we went. I’m hoping to have a better experience next time.
First time eating at this location. Came here because the Havana was closed for dining-in and Don Ramon was nearby (only 2 blocks away). Thankfully we had a very pleasant experience. Food was excellent, desserts were delicious and authentic. I had the Bistec Palomillo and everything on the plate was wonderful. Didn't have to wait long for the food to come out either. But ultimately what made this visit memorable was the excellent waiter we had, Oscar. Kind and attentive but not hovering, friendly and super personable--he checked all the boxes for what a good server should be like and because of that, I plan on returning with my family again to this location! Only minor issue was the very dim lighting where we were sitting, but I believe other parts of the restaurant have window seating or more brightly lit areas so this isn't really an issue. Thanks Don Ramon and thank you Oscar.
Had dinner here with my entire family and every dish was 5 star. Incredible service and delicious food! Dessert was amazing too-try the coconut flan!
Excellent Cuban food in a clean and cozy atmosphere. 5-star attention, Oscar went above and beyond to make us feel at home. I recommend this restaurant for a family dinner in West Palm Beach. Don't forget to try a couple of Mojitos, you won't regret it.
Delicious food at a great price!Very cool historic location, & offering live music!
Great place, great service and very good food. They had a singer the night we went, made our night out even better. Thanks George
Great environment & good prices. Food was ok. The empanadas were fresh & flavorful! The lechon asado needed more sauce/juice, and the churrasco was a little too thin and dry.The service was slow, but it seemed to be purposefully slow - like that everyone expected it to be a long dinner experience. But it took a long time to get drink refills & to pay.I can see why people enjoy the restaurant. The vibe was fun, and the service was friendly. But I’d probably try out other options before returning.
An iconic restaurant along Dixie Highway not far from Forrest Hills Blvd. It has served the community faithfully for many years. If you like authentic Cuban food, this is the place to come to. It has been a number of years since our last visit. Don Ramon’s of 2022 did not disappoint. We were visiting during lunch. The doors open up at. 11:00. By 12:00 the place was crowded. There are plenty of painted pictures and photographs on the walls. It adds a bit of ambiance of being in Havana. Tasty authentic Cuban bread came to the table first. It was lightly buttered, but so very good. I could have a meal alone with that pressed bread. One of my friends loved the Picadillo. The ground beef in Cuban gravy was made perfectly. Most of the party ordered Black Beans, Sweet Plantains and Yellow Rice. I did have our waitress put a side of cut onions for my Black Beans. I had the Shrimp Creole. It was tasty and the shrimp were done just right. I would indeed order this dish again. My other friend ordered the Garlic Shrimp and liked it too. One of my friends did say the pork was rather dry and it separated in “strings.” My friend would not order this dish again. They were pleased with everything else though. What a great space! I’ve lived in WPB for a long time, and somehow missed this spot. Great food, service and atmosphere. Certainly will return shortly - the ropa vieja was incredible!!
