I had been wanting to try this place and I finally did. My palomilla was juicy and tender. It wasn't too thin either so it was perfect. The rice was right on point and the beans were good. The yuca was good too except I had never seen red mojo before so that was new. My husband had the boliche with yellow rice and he loved it. We will definitely be back.
The food was good but the service was terrible and the staff was rude and unfriendly. I would have given them only 1 star but the food was good so they get 2 stars. I won’t be going back to this location.
Don Ramon is one of those restaurants where everything is pretty good but very little is outstanding or special. The food is worth a visit but it's nothing like the Cuban restaurants in Miami. Maybe West Palm is too far for the real Cuban chefs to drive? A recent dinner for three was reasonably-priced for the area but not exactly a terrific bargain. We struggled with the service; it was a Friday night and the restaurant was about half-full but finding a waiter / waitress took awhile, before and during dinner. We sat at the bar for a nightcap but nobody showed up for quite some time until we found the on-duty maitre-d' who sent us a bartender. This isn't rocket science; Don Ramon has promise but needs to get some of the basics straight.
Probably the worst experience I've had. I have not stepped foot in this restaurant since 16 years ago when an employee stole my cell phone and racked up the bill making calls to Cuba. Yesterday I decided to give it another go. Well to my surprise I had a strand of hair wrapped in my fish and in the breading. When I tell you tangled and wrapped in there. The rice was ice cold as well. When I finally got the attention of our stale waiter his reply was "that's weird nobody has hair like this back there". Excuse me sir, it's a very straight light brown strand of hair wrapped in my food. I have very curly black hair since it was insinuated it could possibly be mine. Never did I ever get an apology. What I got instead was to go containers with huge holes on the bottom of them. Seriously Don Ramon get it together!
I ordered a buffet for 30 people for my mothers birthday! Everything was absolutely delicious! Everyone loved the food! El arroz imperial was out of this world! I got 3 separate buffet orders for 10 people so there was a variety. They helped me carry it out to my car! It was exceptional service, and food was prepared with love, only way it tasted that great! Thank you
I absolutely love coming to this resturant. The business itself is authentic and full of culture. I preferably like to come on Saturdays as they only serve their Cuban oxtails on Saturdays only. Today I got the Mango margarita that was truly amazing and you get a big portion of it too. I also got a side salad that is always bomb and for the main course was the Cuban oxtails that are so juicy, tender and packed with flavor. It's definitely a meal that is worth every penny. The staff is amazing and most of them have been there for years so it's always nice to see familiar faces when you visit. Overall I am always looking forward to visiting Don Ramon Resturant. Trust me you won't be disappointed.

Arroz con pollo was worth the wait.
I ordered chicharron de pollo from the lunch menu. What I got was not that. It was really bland and not crunchy at all. It had a weird texture to be considered chicharron… more like stew chicken without the sauce. They really need to season the food and put a little more effort.
