Delicious sandwiches & the French fries were amazing. Started with the nachos & asked to substitute beyond beef. Waitress happily agreed to substitution. Staff was super nice, friendly & attentive. Will definitely go back again!
A very interesting establishment. Staff was quite friendly. It appears to be two separate businesses which are merging into one shortly. For the moment, the bar and the food are ordered apart from one another. The seating is a bit sparse and not particularly comfortable, but the food makes up for it. I ordered their fries with brisket and cheese curds. Immensely pleasurable, although I did not need a large. The choice of alcoholic beverages is nice as well. It was a bit hard sitting outside on what Pooh Bear would certainly have referred to as "a blustery day". Food is delivered in cardboard boxes, so it can easily fly away if you are not paying attention. They also have an area that looks like it is set aside for large gatherings with community seating and pinball machines (you can't go wrong with pinball machines even if it is not The Adams Family). You get up to order your food from a register, so it is sort of like Quick Service at Disney World, and the tip is up-front pre-service (creepy). I always question whether fast-casual counter service should be tipped 20% if that is my standard for quality full-service dining experiences (the only service difference between this and an untipped McDonalds employee is that McDonalds doesn't usually walk the food to my table and I toss it myself), but I still left 20% until I can get some clarification on the distinction between the two. In the end, I think the servers and the food made for a good experience that may bear repeating
Have eaten here several times - always great! The fries are phenomenal and the maple bacon…. Mmm! Love this place!
Ok so I finally visited Omnivorous @ Double Branch Brewery @ The Grove. And there are a few things I have to say. Firstly, I had the BBQ nachos, normal burger add bacon and upgraded the fries with brisket gravy & cheese curds and 2 kids meals. No pics today because we were starving and being my first time by myself with my 3 kids was a bit much when you add the loud music and hybrid service(more on this later). Which leads me to the second part of this review. There's no host stand by the entrance nor a sign that says seat yourself so I had to track down an employee and ask, already off to a bad start. Then there's the fact that I was told that I can either walk up to a kiosk to put my order in or someone will come to my table to take it. Well, having 3 kids under 7 I opted to wait for some one to take my order but after waiting 15 minutes no one came, I even looked at the servers that kept going around my table but none stopped to ask if I needed help (more points off) So I decided to leave my kids behind so I could go order which was around a corner where I had to loose sight of my table which is a no no for parents. And if you are wondering why I would bring kids to a Brewery you ask? Well I thought I was bringing my family to a restaurant that welcomes families with kids because they offer a kids menu. Which by the way was a highlight because at 7$ for a burger with fries and a drink is a bargain. The BBQ nachos were deliciou but it did lack a bit on the BBQ flavor because the Cilantro crema although yummy it was all I could taste besides the pickled onions. The brisket gravy with cheese curds was underwhelmingly bland. I understand underseasoning the gravy because the fries are salty but the gave still needs some seasoning or punched up somehow because the salt in the fries isn't enough. The normal burger as it's called suffered from lack of seasoning as well and the bun was too thick and dry, it was a like a kaiser roll which im not a big fan off for burgers. Lastly, maybe its a weekend thing combined with where I was sitting which was in front of the wall where the jukebox is. But if the jukebox wasn't rattling my ear drum the live band was. All this to say maybe Carnivorous isn't as bad as I make it out to be. Maybe the weekend isn't the best time to bring kids and have a nice family dinner. Maybe it's more of a hangout spot for adults which is fine but don't sell it as a family restaurant inside a brewery. Say what it is, it's a bar with a seating area that offers food truck style food on paper plates, and there's nothing wrong with that. Will definitely be back for date night or to hang with my friends which is what seems to be the real target audience of this place. Oh and the fries are amazing!
Great food—unique offerings for this type establishment. Great to see a face from the north (Travis) doing well with this restaurant in the south!
Pics are of the Brussels sprouts and Hoisin salmon salad. Both were superb! Others in my party had the brisket PO’ boy, a burger and the brisket egg rolls. We all raved about how good the food was. Add to that the great atmosphere of a live band on a Friday night and a great selection of beers on tap. Staff was very welcoming. This place is worth checking out!
We really enjoyed our meal today! The burgers were delicious and the fries...wow! They have very generous portions, great service, and it is a big plus that they are attached to a brewery. A+!
Update: Just made the review a 2 star. I’m Jamaican. I love spicy food but the jerk burger is inedible because it’s so hot! I would NEVER order this again EVER. I suggest you don’t either. 10 minutes later and my throat is STILL on fire. Burned a whole in mouth and my wallet. All things aside, we would maybe come back to try other things on the menu but absolutely not anytime soon.We started with the Brussels and the brisket nachos. The food was good to start! We also decided to order food to go. Two burgers and fancy fries cause we’re celebrating! Do not order them copied copper style. The hoisin is SO STRONG. This is coming from someone who LOVES Thai food. We both tried one fry and that was enough to send them back before boxing out the order. We ended up trashing the fries and had to turn around and order regular fries because an exchange wasn’t gonna happen. Be sure about what you want when you order.
Really good fries and a clean bathroom. What more do you need?!
Held my Sons wedding reception there. First the place is in a great location with plenty of parking, spacious inside and outside. The owners were so accommodating and the Food was unbelievable. Picked the items we wanted to be available and they made it all. Plenty of it and there was never a shortage. They served 120 people. Everyone was raving about the food and selection at the bar. The staff took care of every detail. Handled the cake delivery, Decorating vendor,Music vendor and the use of the Center Courtyard for the ceremony. Can not recommend them enough
