Ate here tonight. Was a bit worried considering previous reviews, but we loved it! We ordered a large party box and everything was delicious! Food came out within 10-15 minutes
The spicy tuna, and tempura shrimp sushi is delicious but prepared different depending on the chefs. The service is speedy. My order is always perfect.
So I'm going to get this place only 3 stars because.. although the food is good but the facility was filthy. All the places where one puts their hands was just plain dirty again the food was good. But there's a expression that goes with good food and dirty facility.
Awful. What happened or changed!?! Used to be decent food but for months now it's just junk and I won't return which sucks. There is nothing good at all left. Even the soup is watered down without flavor. The chicken is weird and the steak is awful. The rice is plain unseasonably or flavored and I'm honestly not even sure it's fried. I see no egg at all. Such a dissapointment.
I have ordered from here twice now, the first time the steak hibachi was given to me with raw steak and tasted like it was cooked in coals. I gave them a second shot and the sushi that I ordered had brown avocado in every piece and was absolutely awful all around. Have not found anything actually edible at this place. Dont them keep taking your money that quality wont change. Go to Hibachi express on N Florida, they know what they are doing.
The other night, we did door dash. Our entire order was correct except a missing chicken fried rice ($10). Accidents happen, so my wife called the restaurant and texted the door dash (DD) delivery guy. The DD said he only received 2 bags... which were delivered. While on the phone with the restaurant, my wife was accused of lying and was told she would have to pay for a new item. Never once was there an apology or even an admittance that the restaurant may have screw up. This was unacceptable, and we will never order from this place again. Costumer service is considerably lacking at this place... find somewhere else to order food.
I ordered on Uber Eats.I ordered the steak fried rice spicy with extra egg. They never added the “spicy” that I paid extra for. It was lacking any kind of flavor at all. Just bland rice with chunks of steak in it. I also paid for extra egg but I could tell where the extra was.I also ordered fried chicken wings. I’m not sure what the breading was but it was horrible and leaves a strange after taste. Plus these wings do not appear to be normal wings. Just all around weird and gross flavor.
I've never written a review but after paying money for whatever they're calling chicken, I feel compelled as I'm sick of being lied to. Just like the last review, obviously there's different owners or cutting corners. I used to get the chicken hibachi lunch maybe two times a week cuz I worked around the corner. I since have a new job so I don't go there quite often but I had a taste for it. The reason why I used to go there is they were different than any other Asian restaurant because their chicken was little pieces of square chicken cut up. It looked like chicken and taste like chicken. ( look at some of the pictures, you'll see what I'm talking about) This however just like most all Asian restaurants do not serve real chicken, and I believe it is a small rodent that's why it's always teriyaki trying to cover up the dark meat. (Sorry to let everyone know but real chicken breast is white meat, not dark meat, small peices)There's little muscles in the meat and I paid 17.00. Thank God I ordered a suchi roll as I only had the veggies and rice. It's a shame because I really love this place as I mentioned they used to serve real chicken. Hopefully the real chicken comes back but unfortunately this was my second attempt thinking it was a one off the first time when my girlfriend picked it up for dinner and I didn't eat any of it then. I will not be eating here again, maybe the sushi, I'm not hating there. And to be clear, I'm not against Asian people because we ALL bleed red and as one. I'm just sick of not getting what I pay for and didn't want to make a real scene, just my opinion
I hope this reaches the owner. The service has always been good For that thank you. I always get the small steak hibachi with extra steak. The last 3 times that I've been there they obviously changed the quality of the meat because the steak has just not been good. If you are the owner reading this I have asked what the change was and never got an answer. I've given it 3 different times now to see if it was just the way it was cooked. It's not good anymore and that's crazy cause I used to go there Twice a week. If it's because of covid and business is down I understand that as well. Offer a higher price stake to people who don't mind paying for it like myself. I hate leaving a one star review but I haven't got any answers it's always I'm not sure what's going on.
I ordered 5 dinners, teriyaki chicken, steak, shrimp and two salmon dinners with a side order of steak. I also asked for two side orders of teriyaki sauces. I clearly stated I wanted the steak medium rare as they cook it always well done and I wanted the salmon not over cooked. I got home only to find I’m missing my sauces which they charged me. Then our steak was more than well done, it was burnt. The salmon was also burnt and dry. So I’m thinking they must have a new chef and so I called and asked for the manager. He refused to talk to me and had our conversation passed back and forth through one of the other employees. I told them even though our food was burnt we were hungry and said it’s still edible but, the steak orders were completely unacceptable as it was burnt, dry and hard. I was told he will only give me two side orders of steak as he said the rice and the vegetables weren’t burnt. Lol I told him I can bring the whole order back if he wanted to see them and the girl on the other line said it didn’t matter because he said it was the steaks are what was not edible. She was very apologetic and couldn’t understand the logic of her manager. I ordered dinners but he only wants to replace or refund me for the steak only and not as dinners. She said she tried to explain to him that we come there all the time but, his decision was final. I asked the girl if I could still speak to him and I was told I can come there and he’ll speak to me then. Well, I don’t think we’ll be coming there again. I work at an establishment where customer service is paramount. I’m also a supervisor and I try to make sure I do everything I can to make things right for our customers who have complaints but, the level of customer service by the manager at Hibachi Japanese Express in Wesley Chapel is so poor that I feel bad for his employees because his actions dragged everyone down with him and giving the place a bad review.
