The service was excellent and the food was phenomenal. I found my new Friday night after work spot. Our server was Nick and he was very professional and on top of his game. My husband asked for a Red Devil at the bar and the waiter, Mika, had never heard of it, but she looked it up and made it for him. It was outstanding. Also, the manager Liana was readily available and treated us to dessert. See you back soon?
I thought I was there for a family dinner,, but it was a proposal (I said Yes!). Jill, our waitress, was AWESOME! The entire staff rocks. The food was delicious, presentation of the meals beautiful and the restaurant is gorgeous. WE will be back again. Thank you ?
My wife and I were really looking forward to celebrating our Anniversary here, especially after reading positive reviews and looking at photos of the menu items. We had a pretty positive experience overall, but could not bring ourselves to give 5 stars. A quick background. I moved from Louisville, KY about 20 years ago and although it is not considered a 'cosmopolitan' town, there is a plethora of outstanding, high quality restaurants there. Since the move down I have been mostly disappointed with the local restaurant fare in So. Florida. So... we had early reservations and were greeted by friendly, smiling staff and seated immediately. Our server was professional and friendly enough and she checked on us regularly. No complaints there. We ordered the Shrimp Cargot to share as an appetizer. It was pretty dang good, just like you would imagine when you combine butter, cheese and garlic. My wife ordered the Bone-in Ribeye which was quite tender. I had the Chilean Sea Bass and it was nice, as well. A little too under cooked, but I prefer fish to be slightly under cooked than over cooked. We also ordered the Creamed Spinach and the Truffle Mac and Cheese as extra sides. They were both decent, although a little on the 'dry' side.. but still a step up from the chain restaurants. For desert we ordered the 'Going Bananas'. I thought it was pretty decent but my wife was disappointed with it. We took home an order of the Bread Pudding and tried it the next day. It was massive in size for a desert, VERY generous serving size... but somewhat unspectacular in taste and texture. I ordered a margarita with my dinner and definitely do NOT recommend you do the same. It was closer to nasty than good. I could not finish it, and this is coming from a person that makes and drinks margaritas 3 nights a week... my favorite cocktail. Had I realized at the time it was a $20 drink, I certainly would have sent it back. Other than the food being a bit less than 'perfect', a couple of somewhat unexpected practices occurred. First, when the check was delivered... it was simply laid on the edge of the table (think Denny's) without any privacy 'book' or cover. And when we asked for a take-out box, that is exactly what we got... a box was set on the table. I know these seem like trivial things... but at this price range I have never encountered such an 'inelegant' practice. To put it into perspective... when I was in Louisville a couple of months ago I dined at Volare's. At an almost identical price point the food was simply remarkable, the transaction was dealt with in a more elegant way... and when we asked for take home boxes they gathered up the dishes, took them to the kitchen and boxed and bagged the leftovers and brought to the table a 'claim ticket' that you presented to the staff on the way out, who then matched the ticket to the one on the bag. A true 5 star experience all around. Sorry to have sort of combined a bit of my 'South Florida restaurant frustration' with my review.. but it just doesn't seem 'right' that I have to travel out of town to get that 'perfect' meal. A couple of years ago my wife and I dined at a Thai restaurant while in Las Vegas, the food (and service) was so amazing I almost cried. One of those rare occasions where I am compelled to tip the chef. But the short of it is... yes, I plan to go back... but not with expectations as high as before. Maybe for lunch and order a couple of their appetizers (but paired with a beer, not a margarita).
A beautiful place. We had their Bistro salad and the soup of the day which was loaded baked potato. Both were delicious. The soup had a depth of flavor and layers of seasoning that was exceptional. The cornbread croutons were a nice touch on the salad. The salad also had fresh roasted corn on it, but it was a bit too blackened in my opinion. Still delicious however. For dessert the server recommended the Going Bananas. It was good, but did not have fresh banana on it as described on the menu, and overall we felt that it fell short. It simply did not have enough banana in it to justify the name. The cake was banana, but that was it. No other banana in sight. Definitely a miss there.Overall this is a place we would visit again, because it is a very nice experience.
Went to kaluz Saturday night with friends at the Wellington location. We have eaten there a few times and the food never disappoints. The atmosphere is beautiful and has a good vibe. The food is always good. The prime rib is excellent as well as the rib eye and salmon. The service was top notch. Great desserts. I highly recommend Kuluz
Went a few weeks ago & everything was extremely fatty. The Brussels sprouts had easily twice the aioli it should’ve had. The creamed spinach seemed like it was half cheese. The steak was disappointing to say the least. Poor marbling, drenched in butter, over seasoned, & slightly over cooked.I decided to give them a second try tonight, figuring it might be decent if I ordered more carefully. They refused to book a reservation until 8:30, saying they didn’t do short notice reservations anymore and that I’d have to walk in then hope it’s not too long of a wait. (I waited around 90 min last time) The hostess was extremely blunt & stuck up about it. Not what I was hoping for at $100/person.
Fantastic feast. This is the second time we were there and the second time we really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. Shout out to Eric our waiter, he was awesome, very attentive to our kids and listened patiently as they were making their selection. If you are going to get appetizer there, the calamari is second to none. Absolutely delicious. The prime rib and the filet was made to perfection. We set in the outdoor patio which was surprisingly well cooled with the overhead fans considering this is south Florida. All in all a great experience. Call few days ahead to make reservations though as this place can get busy fast, and for the right reasons.
I went with a friend and I liked the place a lot. The environment is great and beautiful. Very comfortable sitting area, it was a bit full so my plate arrived and I had to wait for spoon and Parmesan cheese which is probably supply chain issues. I order the sea food pasta and it was great quality my friend ordered salmon with a salad and I taste her salmon was super delicious. They have a great selection of wines and the bread there is amazing and freshly made.
Took a while before trying Kaluz, but once we did, it’s one of our favorite places. It’s a good value considering the quality of food, service , and ambience. Best of all, you can go casual or dressy, whatever suits you. We’ve tried the meatballs as well as flatbreads for appetizers. Both delicious. For entrees, we’ve tried the scallops, duck, tuna, and burger. All very good. Also, you can substitute sides. If you want a house, Cesar, or wedge salad, all decent sized, and only a measly bargain priced $6. Ice tea refills are served in a new glass, which is very nice. And save room for dessert, Tge Key Lime Pie ($9) is the best around and the Going Bananas ($9) dessert is phenomenal. If you haven’t tried Kaluz, do so, you won’t be disappointed.
Went with 6 people. Busy and noisy as to be expected. One of us waited too long to get a salad. Everything else was amazing. The calamari, artichoke appetizers and salads were great. A little disappointed that the Shrimpscargot appetizer I was looking forward to was unavailable. Entrees of steak, salmon, prime rib burger and south beach chicken club sandwich were excellent, as were the desserts. Overall a great dining experience. Will go back because there are things I have to try.
