Just wow!!! Wonderful wine selection! Had the Mediterranean Salad. Beautiful flavors and happy mouth! Small, quaint and fabulous.
My wife had Ben Tench's special NC Flounder tonight and claimed it was one of the best entrees of her life. This is not idle praise coming from a life long food professional.
Hostess and owner/manager were terrible. Too many other great restaurants to dine rather than this strip mall wanna be Karen-owned place.
Nice ambience... music and outdoor setting. This was our first time there. We had reservations and when we got there the hostess tried to sit us at a table in the back right next to the door where waiters and everyone else would be coming in and out. There were several other tables without anyone sitting but she said they were not available. The hostess was very cold and inflexible. She made us feel very unwelcome. By the way, we noticed that no one sat at that table the entire time we were there. We ended up sitting at the bar. After we got over being upset at how we were treated, we had a glass of wine and had some fresh oysters at the bar. Subsequently, the food was good. Our waiter/bartender, Bill, was very nice and we had a good time. The young man who had been there for 3 days and shucked the oysters was very nice. We would go back again, but if the hostess who we encountered is there again and treat us the way she did, we will not go back a third time.
Good food. Great service and live music! Also dog friendly.
My wife and I just had a wonderful dinner at Vinz. We ordered a chocolate mousse dessert and it was frozen. We were not sure if this was correct but we continued to finish it. It was so hard that we had to use a knife to cut it. I mentioned it to our server and she immediately said she would take the dessert off the bill as she knew it was frozen. We were extremely grateful for the gesture. Upon leaving the owner approached us and demanded that we pay for the desserts because we finished them. We tried to explain that we told our server that the desserts were frozen and didn't expect to have the item removed and we appreciated the customer service. The owner exclaimed that it cost her $8 for the dessert and only charged us $10 and because we ate them we have to pay. She also admitted that it just came out of the freezer because they ran out. She said if we returned them she would have thawed them. My wife and I could not believe that the owner was fighting with us over 2 $10 desserts after a $200 dinner. After a heated conversation, we chose to pay the $20 dollars in exchange for losing 2 customers. We felt that the server was going to have to pay for removing the $20 from our bill. The owner said she was full every night and it didn't matter to lose us as customers because we ate the desserts and should pay for them. In closing, the server offered to remove the desserts and the owner hunted us down to pay for them. Sad to say, we will not be going back. I only hope that the server keeps her job after doing the right thing. We have spent over $1,000 a year at this restaurant and they lost us over $20. I wanted to share this with others as I work in the hospitality industry and know that long term relationships are more important than a short term ($20) win.
Love this restaurant. Delicious food and treated royally. The entertainment is just the right volume so you could be right next to the pianist and still have a conversation.
One of the best meals I’ve ever had dining out. Great atmosphere
All I can say is WOW! From the moment we entered Vinz, we were treated to impeccable service. Not only did Zandra help celebrate my 60th birthday once but she made it extra special for another evening for my birthday. Zandra opened her enchanting restaurant to us and it was wonderful.I felt so very special due to the food, service and special touches from Vinz. I would highly recommend to locals and visitors as it was one of my favorite birthday events. To dine at a establishment like Vinz is always special. Lovely food, lovely wine, fantastic company, love you Zandra!
My Wife and I went to Vinz for our Anniversary and it was not a pleasant experience at all. We had gone with the idea of a entire evening, drinks, appetizers, dinner and hopefully good music. Our waitress literally drove us crazy asking at least 5-6 times if we were ready to order dinner. This is after I had told her we were in no hurry and planned to spend the evening there. The appetizer we order was good until the next table beside us became filled with 2 couples and their dogs. We were shocked that such a nice place would allow dogs only feet away from you while you are having dinner and drinks. Soon another table filled up with a couple and their 2 dogs. The dogs seemed completely uncomfortable, scared and barked whenever anyone came close to their table. It is not our idea of a place you would want to go for a special occasion or even a quiet adult pet less evening. We did not stay and order dinner. Great as a dog kennel which also has a business right next door but not to our liking. We will not be going back to bad because it could be very nice and elegant!!
