I went with a friend for dinner. We both ordered a glass of Pinot Grigio and the Chicken Piccata. Our bill came to $50 each with a 20% tip. They do give you a few slices of garlic bread free as an appetizer. The waiter was very, very good as was the food. That said, for that kind of price, I expect some veg on the plate or a small house salad. But everything at Scampi's is a la carte. Despite the good food, I won't be in any rush to go back considering the high price.
Delicious! My husband and I had a dinner date tonight at Scampi Grill and it was delicious. We started off with the calamari appetizer. They calamari was crispy and it was served with two tasty dipping sauces. I had Scottish Salmon Oscar while my husband had the Veal Oscar. Both dishes were absolutely amazing with just the right amount of seasoning. We had the amarone red wine which was 1/2 price during happy hour and extremely divine! To finish off our meal, we ordered the pistachio cheesecake and lemon mascarpone cake with cappuccino and sambucco. Such a great meal and wonderful service. Our server, Christine, was awesome! I didn't take pictures because I was ready to dive in all that deliciousness as soon as it arrived!
Scampi Grill has typically been our go to and recommended restaurant. Unfortunately, our last two visits were not up to par. Both times our waiters had no personality and appeared rushed. Our bread had to be sent back because it was inedible. We could not even bite into it. Besides being burnt, it was served dry without olive oil. When we told the second waiter how it should be served, he snapped back, “I will follow YOUR direction!” It’s not our direction, but what we had been served previous times!!!! I ordered an insalata mista which was very small with tiny pieces of that hard bread as croutons. My stuffed portabella mushroom was tasty, but it, too, was very small in size. Upon leaving I asked the young man and young woman serving as host and hostess if Mimmo still owned the restaurant. She said, “Yes, but he doesn’t work here anymore!” My reply was, “Perhaps THAT is the problem!” VERY disappointing!
My wife and I stopped into this local restaurant at 5:00 on a Tuesday evening without a reservation. We figured at such an early time not an issue. However I stand corrected hostess claimed nothing available without reservation perhaps one table literally next to the front door.I get it I didn't have a reservation , however the lack of compassion or hospitality on her part didn't bode well with me. Especially when there were numerous tables available. I literally promised to be out before their reservations showed up. This review would have ended here. However the owner/chef changed my mind in a NY micro second. We were seated at a table quickly and enjoyed one of the most memorable dinners in a long time . Thanks to Alex the owner an incredible chief along with our server Lorraine, we will be back. Next time I'll call in advance thanks guys David
Our first time visit. Loved it!Food took a little longer then we expected to be brought to the table, but so worth the wait. Our waiter, Lief was outstanding. Being our first visit we asked for recommendations. He was "on point". Starting with Italian Old Fashion to artichoke appetizer, followed by the blueberry apple salad and for our entree veal and shrimp scampi. All we could say is Wow! The night was complete with a limoncillo cream cake.Perfect ending to the meal.Thank you Lief for your service and recommendation. We will definitely be back and will ask for you.
Flat out delicious. The veal and shrimp scampi is a wonderful entree. And the garlic bread which comes with the meal - butter-drenched and cheesy - is simply marvelous.First Scampi Grill visit. Won't be my last.
Atmosphere, menu, drinks, wines, food, staff were all excellent. My husband and I were able to book an early reservation at the last minute. Pleasantly surprised to find that there is a happy hour with $5 martinis and other offerings as well. Scampi only has a service bar so reservations are a must. Delicious bread pre dinner. Food portions are generous. We shared a delightful fresh Caesar salad with perfect house made dressing. Hubby enjoyed the bolognese pasta, yum and I the eggplant rollatini. Unfortunately we skipped dessert and had leftovers to take home. Next time we will order just appetizers to enjoy the variety of offerings. Many options on the menu plus specials make it hard to decide. Thank you, Deidre, for outstanding service.
Went with family Everything was delicious although my eggplant had alot of garlic Portions were large enough to share or eat the next day Service was excellent
It is rare that my husband and can sneak away for dinner by ourselves. Last night we were out for our anniversary. I wish I could remember our waiter's name. The food is always excellent, but last night the service was flawless. Everything was perfectly timed. We never felt rushed even though the restaurant was packed. Thank you to everyone on staff for a wonderful evening out. P.S. The duck sausage was AMAZING!!
I heard about people raving about Scampi Grill so I decided to get take out. I called the restaurant and the lady who answered didn’t know the answers to anything I asked her and was very rude. She claims you can’t order over the phone and you must order online. However, online it doesn’t give you the option to place a side salad. Which the lady told me over the phone to leave in the comments. They didn’t even try to give me a side salad or apologize. My boyfriend then proceeded to go get the order and inside the people who work there are very stuck up. Not a pleasant place to make you feel welcomed. I was super unhappy with the food. I love Italian food but the food was very salty and the portions are super small. The food is way over priced for the taste and portion side. I would save your money or if your craving Italian food go to the Italian Grill in Vero Beach. Everything there is made from scratch and it’s such a welcoming atmosphere. Worth the money there! You won’t leave unhappy.
