Lived in the area in the 80's and use to frequent this establishment. Has not changed and still does not disappoint. Gave it a 4 star because it was too busy and had a table that had a busser tray station next to it. Chatter from the staff and too much distraction from the clanging of the dishes. Food did not disappoint.
Always a pleasant surprise at The Ocean Grill, the staff are so accommodating, this property boasts a beach side location, the food is superb. A restaurant that has matured over the years, personally the food and service just gets better. A very memorable visit, the local fish was truly amazing from the ocean in the morning to being served in the evening, from start to finish the visit was a complete evening, if visiting vero, The Ocean Grill is a must.
This restaurant is always consistent with food and service. Great location at the beach. Treat yourself and enjoy a lunch or dinner here.
It was a bit of a wait tonight for dinner....1 1/2 hours. I waited at the back bar having a drink. Had a nice conversation with a couple. I had my usual, beet salad, Glass of Malbec, Duck with baked potatoe. The duck was perfect, moist, seasoned perfectly. Beet salad is a great combination of flavors. Ordered dessert to go Blueberry cobbler
Waited only 20 min to be seated to a wonderful meal experience! Albert was our server and explained all the specials. I had the crab cakes and hubby had the flounder. Both dishes were delicious and Albert checked on us to make sure our drinks were full and our meal was to our liking. We will definitely be back next time we are in the Vero Beach area!
We have eaten at Ocean Grill two times now and have not been disappointed. They have great fresh fish and the location is great- right in the ocean. Highly recommend it.
Consistent, basic, seafood and steak restaurant, a favorite of tourist and locals alike. We had baked shrimp topped with crab, beet & goat cheese salad, shrimp cocktail, crab au gratin.Table next to us had roast duck, ribs and stuffed baked potato that looked appetizing.
Great location and fabulous food. We checked Trip Advisor when we arrived in town and settled on this oceanfront restaurant. What a great decision. Great good. Excellent service. Mostly locals and you can tell they come often.
Went with friends for lunch. Very crowded. The place is very old and dark. Obviously, owner hasn't put any money into this place for MANY years. Chairs and tables very old, as was bathroom. My grouper sandwich had about three ounces of grouper. I was allowed to "substitute" a salad for fries for an "upcharge". Salad was tiny. I had the New England clam chowder, which was pretty good. I asked for bread or rolls, instead, the waiter brought two very small muffins for the six of us. The only good feature of this restaurant is that it faces the ocean. There are very few tables available to sit outside. We had to sit in the inside. Very dark and dreary. Overpriced and can't imagine why this place has above average rating.
We went to the Ocean Grill for an enjoyable lunch a few weeks ago. My wife loved the Strawberry Daiquiri. We went back tonight for dinner before we head back north in a couple days. When we checked in, we were told about a 45 minute wait so we went to the bar and had a couple drinks. The bartender, Melissa, was excellent. After about a 50-55 minute wait, we were called to our table. Norman was out waiter...he seemed pleasant and efficient. I finished first and while my wife was still eating, Norman removed my plates, as well as the bread on the table - which was ok. He then returned and while my wife was still eating, with a fork in her hand, he removed her dinner plate. I was shocked and couldn't believe it. I normally leave a 20% tip...I only wanted to leave 10% but my wife said to leave 15%...Norman, that is why you didn't get 20%!
