Visited July 31 2022... ALL mgmt. and staff were super friendly, entertaining and interesting conversations with alll... very engaging. Casual and comfy atmosphere. Moreover, the drinks and food were AWESOME... raw oyster sampler and poke' were very well presented and dElicious ... the poke' is the best we've had since in the Hawaii Islands. Too, many folks recommended their Sunday buffet. HIGHLY recommended. Eat well, be well.

Very good food and serviceThe Dirty Oysters a personal favorite were nicely chilled and flavorful, freshly poached eggs Benedict at the buffet were perfectly cooked and seasoned.Biker Friendly

The first night was in the middle of covid when we moved into town so just did a pick up and felt the meal was ehh but since heard so many say it is a great place to eat, we gave it another try inside. Well, although we had a good experience (not exceptional but good), I would have given it at least a three rating. However, once we finished, I told my husband that we needed to get home. My stomach began to twist and turn. In my 65 years I had never experienced anything like it. By the time I got home, I was violently ill. My husband claimed in our 46 years of marriage that he had never seen me this sick. After several hours in the bathroom, I began to feel a bit better. The next day, I called Green Marlin and requested to speak with a manager as a courtesy. When I explained what I experienced, I felt I was blown off...Although we are now locals, I will skip the Green Marlin.

I was in Vero Beach today visiting some of my customers and doing a little marketing in the area and I decided to stop for lunch at The Green Marlin Restaurant and Bar.I have to tell you folks if you been following me on here on all these local Restaurants that I visit and dine at. Then you know I give very accurate and detailed reviews. So, with that said, The Green Marlin Restaurant and Bar is an EMERALD that shines bright in Vero Beach. I had their Mushroom, Onion and Swiss Burger meat temp Medium with a side of fries Extra Crispy, and to finish it off my waitress SARA who also doubles as a manager as well makes her own Pecan Pies there from scratch. (SEE PICTURES) I have got to tell you that it was absolutely PERFECT!!! The meat temp was SpotOn and the PIE OMG, SARA you da BOMB girl. That pie was perfect PERFECTION not too sweet and full of flavor. I had the right amount of table touches by the management as well. Folks let just say that a good Restaurant that is truly interested in their guest’s satisfaction must have a floor manager do a table touch but not too many then it becomes annoying. Alexa was the Floor Manager on Duty, and she was SpotOn with her visits. Asked all the right questions and made you feel that you are a valued guest. Thanks Alexa.I let the owner Lou, know how impressed I was with his staff and the level of High Hospitality engagement his staff did was great. To you Lou Thanks for such a great lunch and how you manage your Restaurant. Just to let everyone know that Lou encourages his staff to suggest and yes even bake or cook their suggested dishes if he approves it. Then is goes on the menu for the restaurant guests. (HOW AWESOME IS THAT!) We even had a side discussion that I'm going to let everyone know here on Google Reviews. Lou himself comes in to prep all the seafood to ensure that it meets his personnel quality standards. All his Seafood is never frozen and is ALWAYS Fresh! (I typed it that way because he was very proud of himself that he does that.) So, if you’re a Seafood connoisseur I would make the trip to Vero Beach it’s a nice ride on US 1 and well worth it. You may find out that you’re going to have a favorite restaurant to add to your go to spots. I know this seems like a commercial but hey when you find really good restaurants in the area you have to support them. The fact that they are still here after the pandemic says something too. Please let them know you read my review if you would please and that it prompted you to come check them out. I'd appreciate it. Thanks Everyone!

My dad had the crunchy Haddock sandwich with coleslaw. I had the stuffed scallop lunch. Delish yummyness. Had a side salad with their house dressing. It was good but too much black pepper for me, I gave a sensitivity to anything pepper ?.

Debra R was absolutely amazing, super kind and very attentive. Food was fresh and delicious. Her chocolate torte, which she makes herself was incredible as well as the key lime pie. I highly recommend Green Marlin, we will be coming back not just for the great food but for the wonderful service as well. Thank you Debra!

The sushi, ceviche, dirty oysters were incredible!!! I ordered half dozen and ended up ordering another half dozen!!!The seafood combo bowl wasn’t anything to brag about. Service was just average as we never got any refills. Once our food was delivered our waitress only checked back on us 1 time and this was shortly after our food was brought to the table and we didn’t need any refills. I’m only giving 5 stars because the chief nailed the oysters. Overall would probably give this restaurant a 3 star.

The prime rib was the best I have ever had. Incredibly good! My wife had scallops. They were very good. The drinks are outstanding. The coleslaw was out.

We ordered small house chips, they were not freshly fried but chewy. Def sitting around somewhere. The “French onion dip” was clearly a mix not made in house, there was a large glob of cream cheese in the middle. My 1/2 dozen “ceviche” oysters were also disappointments: the cucumber onion relish they called ceviche was not fresh made but soggy and pickle-tart, not lime juice tart. They loaded WAY too much on top of the oysters, probably to cover up the fact they WERE NOT CLEANED AT ALL! Inexpertly shucked. One had black specks on it and when I picked it up to investigate, a silty black slime covered my fingers and WOULDN'T COME OFF! They removed the item from the check, but I’m pretty sure I’m off oysters for a while. The Mahi Salad was just as offensive: a thin layer of brown-at-the-edges iceberg and a token scattering of red leaf. The “grilled” mahi was slick with liquid, definitely pre-cooked and /or frozen and stored in a liquid-filled chafing dish. The flesh was soggy, bland and greyed at the sides. I’m pretty sure this place doesn’t even have a flat top or grill, just a fryer and a microwave or two. We waited an inordinate amount of time for our packaged food and frozen fish. Even the ice tea refills took forever. Our server( no idea her name, no one had name tags) was nice enough, she went to check with the kitchen about possible gluten ingredients, which was great, but also, standard for service. If you want to sh*t your brains out this is your joint. If you want flavor, interesting dishes, and care at all about your intestinal health, keep driving. Apparently being a mile from the ocean doesn’t mean you will receive fresh seafood.

This Friday we met another couple for dinner at the Green Marlin to have a seafood dinner in compliance with Lent. We were not disappointed. Starters consisted of 12 raw oysters (for me), dirty oysters for my friend, Oysters Rockefeller for his wife and coconut shrimp for my wife. Everything was enjoyed. Entrees consisted of a grouper over spinach in a butter sauce, grouper tacos, roasted salmon and the scallop dinner which was a mistake as the stuffed scallops was actually ordered. The chef sent out one of those stuffed scallops and it was terrific with scallop shrimp and lobster chunks in a mornay sauce and broiled. Drinks were reasonably priced.
