I brought mom here last weekend for lunch and it was a great lunch! We were seated immediately and our server, Luis, was great. We had the Burrito bowl and a Taco salad. Meals were delicious, hot and filling! Oh and the chips and salsa before our meals hit the spot. The best Ay Jalisco I have been to! Good prices, nice portions great staff!!!
Chicken was sparse in the chicken fajitas, and came with no tortillas considering it's almost $16 . The US1 locations don't seem to have this problem.
After a short wait, we were seated in this busy tex-mex restaurant. We know a lot about mex and we ordered al la carte from a big menu. We both rated the food very good but noted different flavors from most of the California and Texas places we've trafficked. Generous servings, friendly service. All good.
My husband and I love this restaurant and have visited it often when in Vero. Recently they started charging extra for second basket of chips and small bowl of salsa. I find this to be very cheesy. I’m confident they make enough money to afford giving a guest a second basket of chips and small bowls of salsa. Come on now! Kind of puts a damper on my opinion of them.
Of all the Ay Jalsico locations this one is the smallest and needs updating. They were short on staff so we had a long wait. The food is excellent just like the other locations which I love but I will not me coming back to this one.
TL;DR: Highly recommend. would visit again. ***Ambiance*** Casual that is designed to accomodate large crowd. The waiting area is very small and it gets crowded very quickly during busy hours. The place was clean and was brightly decorated. Two minor cons: 1. Was very surprised that they did not have any electronic buzzer or texting system to let you know when your table is ready. For the restaurant of this size, it is essential. 2. Does not take reservations. Either online or on phone. I called and they told me there are no options for making reservations or call-ahead list. ***Staff and server*** Both the check-in staff and the server were polite and functional. Not overly friendly that will make your experience with them memorable, and will inspire you to tip over and beyond what you generally do. ***drinks*** we ordered margaritas and they were at par. Nothing special but not bad either. I ordered the spicy jalapeños infused margarita and found it lacking the spicy punch. But that just me. We told our server to make our salsa extra spicy and that came out very good. ***Food*** Food was excellent. We ordered seafood enchilada with mole sauce and the mole was very good. But the star of the table was the whole fried fish. The fish was fresh and still retained its natural sweetness. It was wonderful. See the attached pictures. Overall it was a wonderful experience. It was worth the 30 mins wait to get our table. They have an extensive menu. Would definitely repeat again.
Fajitas for two was very good as always. Was in there about 6 pm and ordered their happy hour $5.00 margaritas and was charged $7.00 for them. On the board is says Happy Hour from 3 pm - no stop time, asked our server and he said it ends at 6 pm. This is definitely bait and switch game and the owners, manager need to take care of this situation otherwise it can become a major problem especially with their liquor license. Need to state exactly when your happy hour is and not leave when it end blank.
Excellent Carnitas ? Service was Great, prompt delivery to table. Delicious Margarita's ? The Food is Ahhmazing!!! Super Happy with It
We should of known by the pile of huge tomato sauce cans stacked outside the back door by the smoking cook what kind of salsa we were about to encounter. The salsa taste like spaghetti sauce, with a few tiny tomato pieces and a pepper thrown in. Cheese sauce is $7 so we decided not to try it after the salsa. My burrito was mostly peppers and onions.
Loved loved loved this place. Great food. Welcoming atmosphere. Enjoyable experience. And the drinks were not watered down. I had a great time. And we dined at the bar. Great times with the young waiter.
